That is some elevation fer sure, looking at 5280 we are getting our first frost warning Sunday into Monday morning. Hope you Highlander's have some PVC and clear plastic handy. Please keep us informed about the temps over there.
Snowballs an shite roll down hill. The cold always up Hahaha

In the 30's here at 0430 lots of fog everything is dripping wet. If i'd left them out longer i'd have big old mold bushes.
Ooff, we have had fog blankening the city from Denver to WY last few days. Many of my outdoor grower peeps are tenting an popping in dehumidifiers. Imagine that, outdoor growers calling a city boy for help because cold an humidity has come early. We are already making snow at 5 Ski resorts. Might be a cold one this year. Good harvest fer EVERYONE, if I was outside atm, in the NW I would suggest making a frame to tarp quickly. Pulleys, ropes, some clear 3mil plastic.

Juss in case shite hits the fan. I can't wait till I get my 4 acres in December.

Where is your 4 acres? Are you going to be an absentee outdoor grower? Or is there a house on it and you are going to give up the condo life?

Yeah, a couple 31 degree mornings, they should make that no problem. As long as it stays above 28, that seems to be the tipping point. I’ll be there Monday!

There is a difference between the temp and the feels like temp. Which do you pay attention to?

Yep, it's that time of year. Oh, you mean 'feels like'? HATE when the forcasters lead with that. Just 'cause it grabs your attention. Especially this time of year when I still have green tomatoes to harvest, and a watering toys to put away.

Are you all done?

I'm burpin' on a regular basis ;-). And giving bottles away.

Time to put outdoor summer things away and get other things out. 2 plants starting indoor in Feb. probably. Growing therapy.

Pulled all my tomatos, cut down the asparagus that went to seed, I re-amended the raised box beds and planted about 250 purple stripe garlic plants and will plant 100 Italian torpedo onions (they should be in next seek). That's the winter garden. I think it's gonna be a cold winter, the humming birds are tearing up the feeder, they're going through almost a cup a day of nectar! I've got five little seedlings up in the tent, for my winter cannabis crop.

I grew garlic for a couple years, then it grew itself for a few after that. LOL
We could only use just so much garlic.

Hmmmm I’ve never grown any garlic. I love garlic. I’ll look into it for sure. We always seem to be running out of it. Does it store well? Well I think we should be done with the plants today. Yee haw!!!

Garlic is prety easy to grow in my climate, where there's no snow and only ocassional frost. Plant it now, harvest in May-June, I amend the soil with some mild 4-4-4 fertilizer then put a pinch of bone meal under each clove. Pretty much don't have to do anything until spring, then some water/fertilizer. It keeps very well, especially if you keep it in the fridge (always put the replanting cloves in the fridge, it helps with germination). I only bought planting garlic once, since then I keep a couple dozen heads for replanting in the fall. I have a box of garlic in my garage that was from May, and it's still good

Getting ready for opening day of duck season tomorrow, going out tonight for the tradional sleep in the marsh! This will be my 56th year.

Like Phyto said, it's easy to grow, but you need to select the right one. There are two main types, (as far as I knew way back), one has large cloves on the outside, then they get smaller as you peel the big ones away. And there's one where all the cloves are about the same size. That's the one you want, 'cause it's much easier to peel.

Perfect for us in the cold country because it needs chilly temps. before Spring. Like tulips.
Johnny's Selected Seeds has a listing but they're out of stock.
I found it at another supplier:
Keene Garlic

Man, after looking at them, now I want to plant some. LOL

Is it that much better than store-bought garlic? Is it really worth growing when you can buy it for $.50 a bulb? Or am I out of line for even asking?😆✌️ I know! I’m missing the point! It’s satisfies a Jones!

There's hardneck and softneck garlic. The hardneck produces larger cloves but doesn't keep quite as well as softneck. Softneck is normally what you get in the store (silverskin)

Within each type (hardneck/softneck) they are several "strains", I prefer the purplestripe hardneck, it is stonger than the store type. There's also elephant garlic, but it's a PITA to grow, and you often get rot issues, it's also very mild. Is it saving me any money, probably not much, but it's easy to grow, and I give a lot of it away. Garlic prices are going to spike, the last few years China dumped a ton of garlic on the US market, put some US growers out of business, now with tariffs they're not selling much to the US.

Lets Go BlueJays!!!! Kirk needs an oxygen mask after those two big angry runs 🤣🤣

Hey @Oldchucky in all the years you ever see a ball player who is perfectly round 😂
How about that slide??? Looked like a bounce and back to standing up 🤣🤣
Dammit, I missed it! Took a nap! At least it’s a close game still! Jays looking pretty good! Yeah, Kirk seems to be beyond pudgy!

As long as it takes.

Bubble pen???? 😒 Well I couldn't resist an the Wife was in Lab. Hahaha

"That thing got bubble?" Bout to find out.
I only grow fer night time bubble. The rest is to keep me going ape shit on my dumbass neighbors. Haha
Follow up, it is surprisingly pleasant and smooth. Will do till harvest is done. Then I break out the "70's" bubbler my Grandfather left me. I am like a kid at the arcade!!!
