Old school gas tank (Lindsay OG X green crack) from butterbean. Bit of an early pull despite going roughly 10.5-11 weeks from flip. Heavy gas/rubber with lemon/earth undertones.

Any of you get any cool first smells other than earthy? And I suppose "earthy" may mean different things to different people but what I mean is that smell you get when you stick your nose in a pile of fresh damp dirt... or you get a whiff of spinosad.

I was just thinking last night how every plant I grow begins it's journey smelling just plain old earthy before they develop, and it got me wondering. Any of you get any cool first smells other than earthy? And I suppose "earthy" may mean different things to different people but what I mean is that smell you get when you stick your nose in a pile of fresh damp dirt... or you get a whiff of spinosad.

My grows smell like dirt for the first 2 weeks until the carbon filter has some volume.
Both of my grows had very little smell of " pot " but it sure smelled like a plant nursery.
My next photo lists a vibrant loud nose that demands respect and whatever the hell that means

I probably should have clarified the initial smell you get off your early buds. They may go sweet or sour later but they both start earthy before they move, and that's what I'm asking if there are other smells and I just haven't come across one yet.

Yes I have had intermittent smells from flowers. Mostly lemon and that smell transfers to fingers. Even my wife loves that smell
I have opened the tent after a night cycle and been smacked in the face with fuel and cat piss. This did not last long and did not transfer to the fingers.
I have not had pine yet and after my moonrocks grow will actively seek out a piney old school weed we called sensimilla back in the day.

Carly got a hell of a repreive from the gallows, the dispensary chick worked some kind of voodoo and I got 5 (1g) pre-rolls of Limoncello in a pack PLUS a eighth of Godfather OG (Revert, outdoor). So she's safe unless that *shade* of orange deepens lol because I am curious about taste. That little branch and the dime size buds are just in the freezer waiting to be hot sauce. Not only is it like collectively a bowl, I don't want my first taste to be any less than as good as I can do holding off.
After all, OG landrace with a terp combination you only get in a few places. If Panama Red and Alcapulco are any indication, which I suspect they are.

Depends on whether I'm growing a satty or an indica/Kush. I find most of me hybrids or or indiva heavies start off with that fresh dirt smell but most of me satties start with a pine/mango skin smell.

I do like the fresh earth smell..

And another thing: re-vegetation. Triggers, as per. What known quanities are involved? A light intensity, diffusion, immediate amount, amount ofver duration, and I think suddenly changing the nutes is a support feature. I've heard over dosing the nitrogen in flower is bad not in leaf burn but as in it might set conditions for reveg. I guess I'm asking what are all the influencing and guiding numbers and which are which? Honestly Cervantes and Rosenthal say light and only light. Talk about a hard left turn... The plant I harvested before these gave off a mind blowing aroma of something like a baked berry turnover or something. There's a grapefruity Gelato in there but it's being overpowered by the Blackberry Kush that smelled lovely in the garden but right now is giving off a stink like.... smelly fish.
