Talk about a hard left turn... The plant I harvested before these gave off a mind blowing aroma of something like a baked berry turnover or something. There's a grapefruity Gelato in there but it's being overpowered by the Blackberry Kush that smelled lovely in the garden but right now is giving off a stink like.... smelly fish. 🤢🤢🤮

Yes I have had intermittent smells from flowers. Mostly lemon and that smell transfers to fingers. Even my wife loves that smell
I have opened the tent after a night cycle and been smacked in the face with fuel and cat piss. This did not last long and did not transfer to the fingers.
I have not had pine yet and after my moonrocks grow will actively seek out a piney old school weed we called sensimilla back in the day.
Sens. Without
Milla. Seeds
LoL more Spanish lessons today. 😜

There's the stem rub trick too, but no matter the strain the only aroma I pick up from that is something akin to sage. If there's a trick to it like thumping a watermelon, I haven't figured it out.

If you're looking for pine, a Durban usually delivers.

Fuck every plant I run seems to have that pine/pepper on the stem rub regardless of trichs terps. Can always smell it hard for a few mins after lights go out if I have the tent cracked open.

Wonder how much our nose comes into play cause I've never really got much difference from stem rubs on my end. Some might have a slightly minty or basil like smell here and there but it's always behind that overwhelming pine/pepper rub.

Normally pretty good at picking up hints unless it comes from stems/leaves on my end haha. Just varying stages of Peppery pine.

Is this smell because the plant is an acid mint? And this first smell it has reflects it's basic ancestry as it grow into itself? Is there a point like "before second node" where it's undifferentiated?

Is god actually a north american brook trout?

anyone else have a wife that just can't stand money in the account?
come home 1 day and see a pile of hardwood on the floor. she said she wants hardwood floors instead of carpet.
ok i guess but i can't install it because my back is hooped. no problem she says, i planned on doing it myself.
she picked up a piece and said "where do i start".
i said clear the furniture from the room and remove the carpet and fuck off out of my way you dumb****.
a week later she buys huge area rugs to cover most of the floor!!!

CHAT FUKKKKKKKKKKIN SEZ!

You’re right to notice it: early on, when you rub the stem or a young leaf, most cannabis plants have that similar green, spicy, slightly skunky smell. Later, when flowering really kicks in, the scent shifts — becoming strain-specific, floral, fruity, fuel-like, whatever.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

  • Early stage scent = baseline plant volatiles.
Before terpene production ramps up, the plant mostly emits common “green” compounds — things like hexenal, hexenol, and isoprenoids that nearly all green plants produce when their tissues are disturbed. That’s the smell of chlorophyll, cut grass, and generic “weed” (as in weeds, not weed).
  • Later stage scent = glandular trichome chemistry.
As flowering starts, the resin glands (trichomes) crank up production of strain-specific terpenes and terpenoids. That’s when you start to smell limonene, myrcene, caryophyllene, pinene, etc. Those are concentrated in the flower and the sugar leaves around it — not so much the main stems.
  • Why the stem scent “changes.”
You’re not imagining it — late in flower, volatile terpenes can coat nearby surfaces, especially if your airflow’s good and humidity’s low. That means the stem you rub later in flower is probably carrying a light dusting of terpenes from the flowers above. So yes, it’ll smell more like the buds themselves.

So in short:
✅ You’re smelling correctly.
🧠 You’ve got a good nose.
🌿 The early scent is generic plant aldehydes; the later scent is the plant’s unique perfume chemistry coming online.

Want me to break down exactly which compounds make that “universal early weed smell” and which terpenes dominate later? I can list the key molecules behind both phases like a scratch-and-sniff chemistry lesson.

No. Yes. No. Perhaps. 🤣

Yes I am familiar with this. Did you know you can be instructed on the placement of a shelf. Told why the shelf should be there. Have tape actually on the floor for each leg of the shelf. And have a hand indicated dimension cell phone picture... AND ITS STILL WRONG THOUGH IDIOT DON'T YOU HAVE ANY STYLE!
Yup, know that.

Dont laugh, that is really the way to go with area rugs. Rugs accumulate shit. If you're not recarpeting every two years you're a filthy animal. You can just toss or replace a nasty throw rug every now and then and neither you nor your wallet will miss it much. And if you have dogs and carpeting, well that's just straight out fkn nasty. 🤣

I do a wash with a scrubber... I want to say monthly but within 6 weeks. I'm finally in a post hoarding basement so like... there is only 3 shelves of crap and all the rest I wiped down and vinegar or bleached lol. The finished side has a replaced and painted wall and as soon as I put in the bottom border a mildly remodeled bathroom.
If you know a hoarder fucking waterboard them for their behavior. And use diesel, UN defines it as torture specifically with water.

Some more of the gas tank. Came out well.

Turns out the 4000k veg light takes better pics than the 3000k flower light haha. Flash helping out too.

Just had to brush some of the stigma off with a silicon brush for the shot as I pulled a bit early haha.
