I bought the AC Infinity 4 x 4 kit with all the bells and whistles.
Here's a link: 4 x 4 kit
Nice, I was skeptical about them until I bought the S4 extractor kit, I'm going to grab the silencer, not that's it's needed but for £50 I want to see how much of a difference it makes, I've also been looking at panels but I don't know whether to stick with the older brands like Omega, Lumatek, Maxibright ect

Which AC light did you get with your kit ?

Thanks

I got the IONFRAME EVO6. I bought the kit so it would all work together nicely the first time without me having to learn a bunch of techie stuff I really don't want to know. LOL

This will be fantastic fun @cpurola I started with an all in one AC Infinity 3x3 and was excellent. Have graduated to a 5x5 with a different light but have my eye on another of their 3x3's now...lol! And the AI controller is amazing. 🤖
Thank you so much for your vote of confidence in me. I'm still looking at it with amazement that I actually did this. But, if I fail at weed growing indoors I figure I could always grow tomatoes. LOL

Thanks for the info. For my first run I'm thinkin' autos, since they stay small and I can focus on the grow and not which branch to move. AND I can take them out of the tent and mess with them without a net stopping me.
I was a little concerned about moisture and the carpet underneath, but after putting it together I don't think it'll be an issue.
Are you fixin' to start another round?
First grow, stay patient, use SOIL as it's much more forgiving for your first couple of grows, just stick with 2 nutrient Canna Terra A + B, your plants will drop after a watering. Don't mess around with, PK Cal Mag etc etc just A and B for your first run, your plants will tell you if it needs more or less otherwise your going on wild huge nutrient run away. Humidity is going to be higher average also.

You have massive height there so you should really be able to grow whatever you want, oh and there's nothing wrong with adding an extra extractor if needed

Keep us updated my man and keep us all updated.

Just stay positive, patient, and if you make a mistake don't expect it to fix itself over night it will take a few days to change, also first grow just use Veg nutes and Bloom nutes thats it, don't mess around with anything else at first or you will just get confused and make it worse, also on your first grow use Soil, a proper one like BioBizz light as it's much more forgiving, move up to semi hydro or hydro once you have learnt plant behaviours.

You got here to help you out anyway, you will hear plenty of people saying it needs CalMag for about every problem but don't listen to this, if your plants have been at 45⁰ all day then start dropping it's because the have had enough light and want a rest so just put them to bed for 6 to 8 hours, next day after an hour of light they will look premium again.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice. I agree, one step at a time. So today I went to the HYDRO store and picked up a couple bags of ProMix potting soil.

I won't start mine for a while. I find it starts feeling like work if I don't take a break.

You're trying something new which is exciting. If I was at that stage again it would be different. The worst part for me now is figuring out what I want to grow from the vault (aka fridge with pyrex dish full of seeds).
You said you have those Autopots? Do you like them? I'm thinkin of getting them for the 5 gallon fabric bags.

I think you’re going to like this stuff a lot! I’ve never run it personally but have made something similar and absolutely love growing in it. You going to amend it with anything? A base? : )

I was going to add about 10-20% perlite, but nothing else. I'm not sure I want to go organic just yet. Too many variables.

I wouldn't use them with fabric bags. There are different sizes of plastic pots. If you're planning smaller plants you'll want at least 4 pots. The fabric bags might get moldy being in water all the time.

Water gets put in a tank that's a couple feet off the ground. There are float setups on the piece the pots sit in similar to a toilet float idea. When the float opens water moves down a water line from the tank to the piece the pot sits in. You can put enough water in the tank to take care of days or longer. I check daily to make sure the pot has water in the saucer it's sitting in.

One down side is if you want to feed plants differently there is only a single tank. You can water nutes in like usual if you want to though. If you want to do a dry cycle for some reason dry out the tank or use the shut off valves.

I use autopots for inside grows with good results.

I tripped over a root shot for autopots.

With autopots you never guess when it's time to water. It's on all the time. Plants want it, they've got it. Clay balls (the red colored things mixed in with the roots) cost next to nothing and I toss a few in each grow. They improve air flow and you never have to guess when it's time to water. This isn't an exceptional shot of the roots. It's normal when using autopots.

I don't fart around with dry cycles. Make sure the reservoir has water going to the pot base, it's good.

Okay, the outdoors is done and I'm looking for a new adventure. 🙂
Lots to learn, so I'm a gonna lean on y'all.
Splurged and got an AC Infinity 4 x 4 tent 'kit', with all the bells and whistles.
UPS dropped it off yesterday and hubby and I put it together today. Very impressed with the packaging and ease of assembly.
Now I have to do some reading. Man that light is bright!

If I could make a suggestion. Before you get started with your grow. Might I mention

Before you get started with your grow may I make a suggestion? Have you considered DWC? It may be a game changer for you, it has been for me for sure! Just a thought…. Best of luck to you. Keep us updated on your new journey. Happy trails….

Funny you say that, I have admired the growth and massive roots those plants get and I'm thinkin' after I do this first run, I may explore it further. My daughter, who has never grown anything more than herbs on the windowsill, was able to make a flood and drain system work. She grew super hot peppers they couldn't buy near them.
