I have a few questions about this plant I know it’s early to detect the sex of it but based on formation it looks male what do you think?

The structure is a little strange, I was wondering if I should top that 5th node or the lower one.. the way it’s growing is making it difficult for me to decide when to top. I’m not a amateur but would like input and feedback, thanks.

It's all dependent on growers style. My 2 cents.. let it grow out couple more sets (nodes) of leaves before topping.

Ok true, I’ve been starting a lot earlier than usual just to test out results but I was going to let it grow out a little more, just didn’t want it to leggy. This is a F1 so I’m really seeing what type of genetics this thing has lol. Appreciate it

I am running 10 autos ATM and I have found that stem stretch from these things happen fast unless I really ramp up the lights early. I still have 2 with that big long empty looking stem but that's the genetic diversity throwing weird looking kids.
I do wait to node 7 to top.

When I run photos and I get one that runs way more than the others I cull the plant. I start 6 to keep 4 due to variance in genetics.
Learned this from the doctor of cultivation on another forum.

Top it now should be fine, way to early to sex

No it’s just I have a lot of genetics that do well with LST and topping, in terms of Harvey foliage around this time in veg but I know all plants are different.


Usually when I top my
Plants like the one on the top they come out evenly like the one on the bottom. I just try to make the canopy more even. I’ve noticed through trial and error with different phenos and cultivars, some just respond better to training. It’s a F1 reg a friend cross bred so the genetics are fairly new and not controlled yet. But I’m going to work with it. Yes space plays a part for sure because I know it will double by time it’s in flower.

I was thinking it was male too but I’m actually in the process of cross breeding with a white lighting mother. So if so I’ll collect the pollen but I need to know so I can take action and put them with my other male. But I’ve come to the conclusion male do kind of grow straight. Up like that at least in my experience but it still is a hard to definitely tell, but you catch my drift lmao

You have time to wait till you see the sex. I'd keep it until there are balls showing then you can move it or collect the pollen.

Yes autos can unpredictable but I’ve had some out perform my photos for sure
