Just a rant about smell, feel free to scroll on by.
I spent a good chunk of time yesterday dwelling about the smell of the buds I've got drying right now. It was a weird fishy smell but not exactly fish. I knew this smell but from what or where, I couldn't remember.
And then I remembered from my mental library. Cod liver oil! All the way down to that weird background mint accompanying the fish smell. How oddly specific.
That was a Blackberry Kush giving off that stench. It finally gassed off that fish smell but it's still got a weird funk in there... and I can already smell something good coming in behind it. THERE YOU ARE!!! The Gelato is also toning down. It was a strong grapefruit and rubber cement and right now at the moment is more akin to axle grease.
I also made a round sticking my nose into the bags of the curing stuff. I cracked open the Ice Cream Cake. It started real grapefruity and sour so I wasn't sure what to expect. Now that it's been curing a couple weeks it has changed to something with a mild vanilla aroma in there, like notes of a sugar cookie. No surprise there, that's a smell the strain boasts. But then I went back to that Gelato to compare it. Nope, way more intense than the Ice Cream Cake. It's a straight out sugar glazed berry turnover! Jaw dropping shit.
The plant did that, not me
