AC Infinity New Grow Advice

I'm about to start my 2nd grow after running into several learning experiences on my first go.

I'm growing 4 autos in a 3x3 AC Infinity tent with Pro Controller. Light is a Samsung Ionboard S33 260W. 6" inline fan and 2 oscillating fans. AC Infinity humidifier.

The 3 things I struggled with the most were temperature, humidity, light level (1-10), and light distance from canopy at each different stage. I'm hoping someone has specific experience with this setup or just enough expertise to lend me some advice.

So, the tendency with this is to overthink things. When you are starting your seedlings are just starting out keep things small and simple. I go with a red solo cup with a small plastic soda bottle with half the top cut off creating a dome. Once your lady gets a little bigger it’s time to transplant into her permanents home. This is when fun begins. I chose hydro as it produces bigger and faster grows. It’s up to you, however I will warn you soil will bring bugs, especially fungus gnats! As far as your light, I would say keeping things appropriately away from your plants is just a mater of watching how they respond to light variations. I usually go 12 on and 12 off. It’s worked for me, I know some will tell you different, but it is again what your plants want that will be the ultimate decision. I like the two fan set up, just a light breeze nothing too strong. Also the humidifier is a nice touch. Are you also monitoring the humidity levels? What are your nutes that you would be using?

I'm putting seeds directly into a 5 gallon fabric pots. I decided I'm also going to put one in a solo cup to experiment with that. Am I guaranteed bugs using soil or is it possible to not get them with regular cleaning. Hydro is not presently the route I'm going. I plan on trying some kind of coco coir down the line but I like using soil so far. If I'm destined for bugs, what's the best way to manage that? Any general recommendation for light level and distance would he helpful. The AC Infinity Pro Controller monitors the humidity, temperature, and VPD for me. It worked very well my first grow, dials in the humidity pretty exact. I struggled with overnight temperature fluctuation as my lung room is in my basement and I haven't invested in the AC Infinity heater or AC unit yet. Nutes are FF trio and finding a proper schedule and mixing guide is honestly one of the hardest parts of this for me

* Temp 20-25c, not a pure set point.

To measure temp go of your room temps as with extraction it should be hard to heat 200cubic feet of air a minute with a couple hundred watt of light.

If you must put a thermometer in the tent shade from all light and all but a gentle flow of wind. The reason why is the same reason we don't put a thermometer in direct sunlight as it heats well past air temp. Light radiation heats any surface it hits, great for leaves bad for probes.

* Humidity I don't do anything for, plants can adjust stomata for that and loads raise perfectly good seedlings in a variety of humidities.

* Light level 200-300ppfd then increase as needed or tolerated.

I can't give absolute maximums, what seems pretty normal is veg 400-600 flower 600-800 some call 1000 max or the point of diminished returns.

Something that's ultra important to

* Wind we can give set speeds but as few have devices capable of reading 0.5-1.5m/s assume a low wind throughout, leaves may dance a little. A direct blast will cause too much moisture loss, plants can't fully close stomata in light so you can exceed what they can draw with roots if too much. Gale force bad, gentle breeze brilliant.

A handy tip could be to use the inline to regulate temps and the fans to apply wind, sometimes in a small enough tent I've had the inline create enough wind on its own. Many point the fan away from plants to lessen direct wind but some fans now can run ultra slow so a more direct approach can be had.

I don't baby seedlings they actually grow pretty fast as does the plant at all stages, domes are bad they stop wind and the leaf fully transpiring, getting everything right takes some practice, hate putting a seedling in a big pot actually feel I get better growth and easier time in small ones and a good soil like allmix or most multipurpose composts.

You can find threads and diaries where people kept it this simple and did well, reason to question a lot of other techniques.

To germinate you can plant in soil but I like a soak till the shell cracks then plant, about 24-48hrs depending how stubborn the shell is to crack open. Some use the paper towel method but can be fiddly or a learning curve, pop in cup of water wait till you can see sliver of white through seedling shell seam and pot to soil you just watered.

Take with pinch of salt it's a lot to have to lay out

Three years old I do t know if they updated but looks the same model they still sell.
