In the winter?Outside spigot (unsoftened).
I have frost free spigots. Just make sure you disconnect the hose, so I can drain. otherwise they will hold the water and freeze. I don’t know if you have this or not, but , My well bladder tank is in the basement and next to it, is a spigot to test the well water before the softening system. That’s what I use when I start my seedlings indoors. In the winter?
Who doesn't love a tall tent!!!@Galgrows, got a pic of the rug I put on the berber carpet to protect from my spills. It's not water proof, but it'll help.
It's really thin and says 'can be put in a washer', well, not mine. LOL
Ended up a little too big, but, oh well.

I use spring water, I have issues. Anyway I definitely have to be careful when adding nutrients. The ppm of spring water is almost close to perfect. Like a good well!!Ro is not that bad you just have to supliment with calcium since most tap waters usually have shit tone of it
Got all my toys working, I think, and couldn't wait any longer, so transplanted my babies into the 5 gallon fabric pots.
They're done sitting on the windowsill, and now get to experience modern full spectrum artificial lighting. Hope they like it. They are currently sitting on AC Infinity's bottom watering contraption, but I haven't put any water in it 'cause they're too small yet. So I poured a bit of RO water around them after transplant. I will continue to do that for at least a week.
I have no idea what the bells and whistles are doing, but I put the AI controller on seedling, turned the light down to 3 (seemed excessive on 5) and left all the fans on. I'm going to leave the lights on 24/0 for now, unless I see damage and will adjust accordingly. (Or an experienced grower strongly recommends otherwise.)
And because I cannot leave well enough alone, I have taken @PlumberSoCal2 's off hand suggestion and put a motorized turntable underneath one of the pots. We'll see what happens. LOL
Nice! I purchased the same kit last month, and added the t3 heater and humidifier (my grow area is in my basement where it is cool and dry).Y'all talkin' 'bout me? LOL
Just wanted to say, 'we're cleared to launch'.
Now, I know there are more than 4, but I'm going to try and keep to four, really.

Yay, we can compare notes. Except that you cheated with clones. LOLNice! I purchased the same kit last month, and added the t3 heater and humidifier (my grow area is in my basement where it is cool and dry).
The plan was to start four seeds (two northern light and two blue dream) but when I went back to Hydro, I bought four clones (two cap junky and two ginger kush) and the AC Infinity humidity dome. They were just moved to the tent 48 hrs ago into 5-gallon pots of Pro Mix and worm castings, and are doing well. The CJ's had some mild shock but the gingers just started to take off. I peek in on my tent at least a few times a day and check the app way too often but this is so much fun!
Happy indoor farming - you got this!
I'm using Pro Mix HP and worm castings. It's holding steady at 71 degrees, 60% RH, and a 1.1 VPD. After the roots develop, I'll introduce the watering bases and start top dressing with Gaia Green.Yay, we can compare notes. Except that you cheated with clones. LOL
What potting soil did you use? And I've got the Cloudforge coming by Monday.
We turned the heat on and the humidity in the house dropped to around 45%. (baseboard, no ducts)
I'm hoping the light will keep temps up, well see. I may have to get a heater too. (we keep the house at 70)
I'm getting more familiar with the AI controller and see the value in it. But, the older I get the longer it takes for anything new to stick. Hopefully starting with seedlings will give me the time to figure it all out.![]()
I also am not crazy about the tent mounted controller and use the app on my phone. You sound like you've done this a time or two, any insights or advice for a newbie?I'm using Pro Mix HP and worm castings. It's holding steady at 71 degrees, 60% RH, and a 1.1 VPD. I'm not crazy about the interface on the controller. It's much easier for me to do it all on the app. Cheers!
I've got hot and cold water spigots on the outside of house. I wash the road salt from my truck, thru winter. Just have to clear the garden hose when I'm done.In the winter?
Old dogs, new tricks. HahaYay, we can compare notes. Except that you cheated with clones. LOL

Thanks — I’ve definitely spent some time dialing things in. My best advice for a new grower would be to keep it simple at first and focus on environmental control more than anything. Consistent temps (around 72°F) and humidity (55–65%) will solve half your problems before they start.I also am not crazy about the tent mounted controller and use the app on my phone. I've used bottled spring water....till I tested pH It was totally off the charts for me, like past 9. My tap is dead on. Didn't seem to bother the seedlings, but spooked me fosho.I use spring water, I have issues. Anyway I definitely have to be careful when adding nutrients. Of course the coldest night so far here in the CO, an my fracking furnace isn't giving heat. Mutha Trucker!! I know it's the flame sensor, but I rent. Not my fracking job. I see that Sir, our tap is like 8.2. Eldorado Spring Water is 7.8 once nutrients are added I get 6.2. so I drop a few ml of vinegar in there.I've used bottled spring water....till I tested pH It was totally off the charts for me, like past 9. That sucks but the flame sensor is an easy, cheap fix. Take it off your next rentOf course the coldest night so far here in the CO, an my fracking furnace isn't giving heat. Mutha Trucker!! I know it's the flame sensor, but I rent. Not my fracking job. Was quite chilly this AM.
Ya, the cold is coming an some good filters are essential! Time to hunker down. That sucks but the flame sensor is an easy, cheap fix. Take it off your next rent! But thanks for the reminder that I need to buy new 3M HEPA furnace filters! I'm in western NY - just east of Buffalo and it is cold here now. We've had frost, and snow is around the corner.
While my clones were in the humidity dome, I had prepped the new tent and premixed and hydrated the medium to allow the castings to begin breaking down and for the tent, pots, and medium to warm up. It was 61 degrees in the tent that first night so I picked up the T3 Thermoforge heater and it has worked really well. It uses very little voltage, seems to be very efficient, and is very quiet and effective. Also, my 18/6 light cycle is 4pm - 10am. That way the light warms the tent a bit when it is coldest in the basement and the kw electric cost is much less at night.
