The next 10 days will. be mid 50's daytime, mid 40's at night, rain expected 8 out of 10. I built a canopy to keep the rain off the plants (pix)

1 out of 3 plants I've had to cut some cola's with bud-rot. I've never dealt with bud-rot before.

My cola's look like they need at least another week or 2. Should I think about cutting my loses now, or chance the bud-rot spreading and losing more? Chop the infected plant only? I feel like I'm in a zombie movie and my friend Jack Herer is inflected....

I am also from the Pacific Northwest. In this weather, once you find it in one bud it has likely already spread to others. But I would rather try to fight it and finish the plant than to harvest early. If it doesnt have too many effected areas, bag and cut them off immediately.

If you cut the bud off, remember to treat the stem or the fungus will wrap around (girdle it) and kill whats growing above. Qtip or spray 50/50 iso and water.

Didn't quite understand this before, if I cut, there isn't anything above, unless you mean all of the un-cut stem and buds... so can I go back and spray the stems and areas that I've already cut? Should I spray all of the adjacent stems?

You mean bag & cut all of the suspected colas that show "any" signs of bud rot? That's sort of what I've been doing. But unfortunetly the largest plant with the most colas is the one showing the most bud rot. I have 2 other that haven't shown any symptoms, yet, but those colas aren't as advanced... I'm just afraid to try any types of sprays.... maybe I should...

Bud rot can be in any flower along the stem. If you've found it in the big colas near the top, you need to look at the flowers below the cola and side branches as well. When the flower is affected/infected the stem may also have become infected. If so, the stem should be treated with the iso/water mix to kill the pathogen after cutting off the flower.

Your greenhouse is keeping the rain off, which is good, but it's also trapping humidiy. (not good)
Fans are usually recommended, but with your temps staying so low I don't know if it's worth doing.

This is a tough time of year for most of us. I had to harvest early because of disease, specifically Septoria and Alternaria. And I found bud rot in many flowers. Southeast Michigan.

The tent is pretty spacious, sides are at least 2' from the branches and open at the bottom all around....I've checked it during and after the rains, plants are definitely dry and the prevailing winds seem to keep the air flowing. I don't see any signs of moisture collecting inside the tent. If I see some, I put a couple of small fans in there to move the air mostly at the peak to the tent.

Next year I'm thinking about growing Jack Herer "Fast" they say is take 2 to 3 weeks less flowering time. So I would definitely be harvesting now... Plus I'm already planning on a preventative regime, getting all medieval as they say, against insects and mold, specially the freaking mold ;-) ps... and thank you for all of your suggestion, they are much appreciated!

Sounds like it's working, now you need to be an inspector and look at the flowers that maybe didn't have rot yesterday, but may today. Yep, it's that fast, and unpredictable.
I tried growing 2 Fast varieties and both developed bud rot more than the standard photo plants. Doesn't mean yours would. Botrytis needs the right moisture conditions to grow once the spore is on your plant. That's what makes outdoor growing so challenging. But it sounds like you're up for the fight. 🙂

DAMM... You were right, today I went out and got Medieval and probably cut over 25% of the colas off (sprayed w/alcohol/water every cut) Have you seen the zombie TV series "Last of Us" You got bit? I love you, now I have to shoot you.. It was like that...

I feel your pain. Mother Nature can be a bitch sometimes.

I would chop. Outdoor grows are big, beautiful, & cheap (no lighting/fans), but. Rolling the dice on the mold deal. Can't completely control the environment. I feel for you. So much time & hope goes into a grow. Good luck to you.

Now I can't tell what is Mold & what ISN'T... help these pic where taken in sequence, tooth pick accuracy. SO is this MOLD?

What about this??? Mold???

Every day I was chopping bud rot and it looked like I was gonna loose the whole thing. I assumed it was better to harvest whatever I could save. Another atmospheric river taking aim at Seattle on Halloween...So I putted the plug, I cut the whole stake and trimmed the branches off, H202 water bath+double rinse ... Very disappointing. This is my 3rd grow and by far the worst yield overall. Thank goodness I have a stash of last years wedding cake and some GSC... But next year....

I feel your pain, greatly, and next year will be a another, perhaps different battle. 🫤
There are a couple of growers here on the farm, in your neck 'o the woods, and have faced similar conditions.
They grow outdoors, but hedge their bets by also growing indoors.
My grows have been increasing more difficult to complete for a variety of reasons so I've opted to set up a tent and try it indoor this winter. I don't really need the weed but growing it has become an obsession and I dearly love it. LOL

Next year outdoors, I plan on growing many Autos and just a few Photos. 🙂
Good luck.
