I loved my new plants a little too much four days ago and gave them too much water. So I kept fluffing the top 1-2" and they bounced back quickly. The Cap Junkies were still lagging behind the Gingers so I increased the temp slightly to 74 and WOW. They are loving life.

🌱 From Dome to Tent 🌿​


Eight days ago these little clones were still chilling in the humidity dome, just starting to put out roots and find their footing. Fast-forward to now — they’re standing tall and loving life in the 4×4 AC Infinity tent!

Right now:
🌡️ Temp: 74.5°F
💧 RH: 57%
🌫️ VPD: ~1.2
💡 Light: 60% @ 20"
🪴 Medium: Pro-Mix HP with worm castings + Gaia Green All Purpose

Next up — a little LST (Low Stress Training) to spread them out and start shaping the canopy before the trellis goes in.

It’s wild to look back and see the progress already.

Progress, they're getting a little bigger, I've got to stop going in there lookin at them. LOL
BTW, the turntable girl got a little dizzy and laid down, had to prop her back up, but I'm not stopping the merry-go-round yet. 🙂
And I have a couple of extras in reserve, just in case. 😉

I haven't been able to use the AI controller 'cause the humidity was too low (approx. 45%) and it's supposed to be near 60%. Bought the AC humidifier and now it can control the fans and humidity. I still have the light on 4 (40%?) at 24/0.
Don't know what I'm doing with the AI thingy, so set limits and let it go. I'll look at it again tomorrow.

Doesn't seem to bother the plants, they're growin'. 😁

Looks great! I just started LST on the gingers and should be able to do the same with the cap junky's in 3-5 days. So much fun!

Thank you! I'm having a ton of fun with this again!

Since the CJs tend to be vigorous and bushy already, I will likely leave them be. The ginger's may benefit from topping more since they can get tall and dominant.

I'm leaning toward just doing LST all around since this is my first indoor grow in 40 years and I'm playing it conservatively to avoid the risk of stress that could slow things down or cause uneven recovery — particularly with clones.

Thoughts?

I agree. I find with multiple plants in the same space LST gives the advantage of not only getting more of the plant exposed to the light, but also gets more air circulation.

Was 30 F this morning.

Looking forward to your indoor grow.
And a fine season it will be, hibernating in the house.
Still need to get a new pair of long underwear. LOL

You’re making it look easy! Nice work!

I ran veg lights 24/0 for years then one day a buddy suggested I might want to run 18/6 or even 20/4, I should have listened.
Some genetics we run might not be as stable as we would like to think. The switch to 12/12 from 24/0 can cause some genetic lines to hermi. I’ve had it happen but not since I put a night time in the veg timer.
Just something to ponder on….oh yea, toss me a roll! Lambert’s rock that southern cooking

Thanks Jadin, I will remember that when/if I grow photos. These are Autos, Northern Lights, @kenb is growing photos and we're comparing notes 'cause we both managed to set up the same tents/accessories at about the same time.
It's my first indoor grow ever, but he's a little more experienced.

Well how about starting your own diary grow thread if you plan on showing the plants and learning about training. I've grown plenty of clones that i've made. LST'd and manifolded them, they are tough.

Just stumbled on the side conversation about using a scale to measure pot weight. One thing that messed with me is if you are going to base your need to water on the weight of the pot, you gotta factor in the increasing weight of the plants and expanding volume of the roots which are heavier than the dirt they displaced. You reach a point it feels like half watered still but it's bone dry. So when I'm picking up a pot to gage it's weight I'm also leaning the plant side to side and allow it to lean so I can gage how much of that weight is top vegetation, sticking my fingers down to see how far the dryness goes, even sometimes giving the pot a little squeeze to see if there's any crunch or if it's nice and soft. Almost forgot, there's also the margin at the outer part that grows as the soil shrinks with less water.

I remember thinking the same thing last summer when I grew Autos in 7 gallon pots. At one point I couldn't tell anymore by weight alone and then I started counting how many days it had been since they got watered, (me or rain).
One of these days I'm not gonna wanta pick them up. LOL

I weigh my pots before watering. I can do this on one strain after running data for 3 pots. When I started using the scale for " score " I was putting pots back 20% of the time.
So for a tiny auto apple fritter yes working good. Can not use the same scale for tare on any other plant.
