Hi boys and girls so I'm using led lights for the first time and I'm a little confused I seem to have two setting on the light veg and bloom, so which one do I use ? Do I use them both or what I'm not sure. Would really appreciate some help thanks

im on day 12ish and had a ruff start and wrong lighting. this is my first grow so, good luck! yours seems to be doing good, i would recommend a bigger pot. also did the color light change the color of the plant? im following this to see what others say.

side note: string doesn't do much its just there.

The only thing I have noticed since maybe yesterday was a little discoloured on one of the bottom leaves as you can see in the pic not sure if that's okay or not and remember I'm still only using the veg setting so not sure if I need to start using both the bloom and veg setting or I don't know 😕

Does your light come with a dimmer? If you are able to adjust the light intensity, then I would use both veg and bloom, but at a low power, like 20%. Most of the new LED lights no longer differentiate between veg and bloom as they simple give you full spectrum at all times. Light intensity is what really needs to change over time. Either done with a dimmer or by setting the correct height of the light. Honestly, even without the dimmer, I would run both veg and bloom at all times and just adjust the height of the light as needed. If power usage is a concern, then you can get away with veg only for 3-4 weeks.

Is the plant photoperiod or autoflower? This will also help determine how to use the light. If photoperiod, you can hold off on using bloom until you switch to 12/12 light schedule. Unless you plan to veg for more than 8 weeks. In that case, you will most likely want the added intensity of the bloom LEDs since the plant will get big. If autoflower, expect your plant to enter flowering within 4 weeks of germinating and you will want to turn on bloom LEDs by then. You will still be safe using both at all times, just keep the intensity in check.

Thank you so so much that helps loads. So i don't have a dimmer or anything it's just a cheap amazon light tbh and it's auto flower so I have already been trying to keep the light at a good distance not to cause any problems. I am also over the 4 week period I'm now on the 5 ish weeks since start and I'm still on 12/12 not sure if that needs to change ? In theory it said it would only take 65/ 75 days to finish is what it said. Thank you all again you have all been so much help I super appreciate it and I will defo upload a photo when she's ready 😊 please if you have any other advice it will all be welcome 🙏 🤗

With autoflower, the light schedule doesn't matter. You can technically grow under 24 hour lighting. Since you are on week 5, I would flip on those bloom LEDs (in addition to the veg LEDs). You should be seeing the plant stretch soon, if not already. Check out the highest nodes of the plant and see if the branches are starting to alternate instead of growing directly opposite of each other. If you see them alternating, then flowering is beginning and you will want the extra LEDs.

Oh right okay perfect yeah okay I'll do that give all I got lool, I am starting to see that yeah so I guess it won't hurt to have full lighting. That's amazing thank you

You tuen on veg and you look if you can get enough light make the lamp closer when edges of the plant need more light and you cant bring it up anymore you add more power.
