So im kinda antsy to start my growing journey but living in clinton county ny as I write this the snow is flying so growing outdoors isn't an option.

What im hoping for is a budget grow that I can do...if possible at all. Everywhere I turn when people talk indoor grows it talks about tent set-ups that cost a fortune to buy...not including the increased power cost(of which our local power company is raping folks when it comes yo their bills....some are being charged almost 1k for a month when they've changed zero percent of their lifestyle and were charged like 150 in a month previously). Is it possible to grow a plant in a basement with a basic 2 foot grow light in a 5g bucket in my basement that maintains anywhere from 50-65 degrees?

What about ventilation?

Newbie here and still learning how to work this platform so forgive me if this has been talked about.

What's your budget? That's the starting point. You're gonna have to drop a couple bones.

WHen I am ready fer ripen, I tend to drop to 65ish fer the skunk, blueberry an kush
You familiar withbthe harbor freight special 2ft grow light? 🤣😅 can't bring myself to buy a stupid grow light. Mainly wondering if it'll kick off enough heat if I make like a box out of foam boards with foil facing.

Trying for as little budget as possible. Also trying to not increase our light bill a few bucks extra is one thing. But cost of living out in my neck has gotten bad because of nys commies taxing the fuck out of us.

ANything you grow will cost you from 10centa a gram up to a dollar a gram.soo you will save a shit tone if you smoke a lot.usually first harvest you will save soo much the equipment was paid

How much do you need for 4months?

Like I said. Our local power company has been screwing ppl hard on bills and have not changed their lifestyles at all. So im trying like hell to not give them any excuses to screw me. We've been fairly lucky so far but my neighbors have not

I know what you mean life is hard.
Well good luck budgeting extra 30cents a day hope you find a way

I have 3 tents, two Vivo and one with Home Depot lights, an reflective bubble insulation fer the walls. Other two tents have a Mars 100 an a Vivo 100

What does that run your bill up? Like I said before our power company has been screwing ppl. Like borderline lawsuit screwing. Based on your username im assuming your in denver. Lol.

Im telling you with certainty its more than that for me here.
Dude... you're not going to be able to grow indoors without using electric and without spending on nutrients, soil, equipment etc... Either get off some money or get off trolling us here at the farm, bc at this point that's all you're doing. This can be a rather expensive hobby, there are up front costs & recurring costs; if your not willing to get off some cabbage, you're not going to make any slaw. Period.

Many of us here at the Farm were the early pioneers of this craft and have spent countless thousands on trial and error so people like you don't have to. We didn't have internet and google and ai. We are more than willing to help, but you have to do your part and help yourself without all the crying. Check out the beginners guide to growing in growweedeasy.com, educate yourself on different growing methods, decide which you want to try, and then ask questions here at the farm. We can almost guarantee success if you do your part and follow instructions.

Welcome to the farm and good luck! 👊😎

Indoor is a personal preference. I would definitely like to have a greenhouse on some land. I am in The metro, I went to the dispensary and..... Probably an extra 40$ mo on the bill

You're the one implying im "crying" when you simply have no clue how it is in my neck of the woods. Im trying to do shit on a budget period. I dont mind spending some money but I refuse to give an insane amount of money to a fucking corporate pig that controls a market because theyre literally the only company in said market around here. I can't shut my power off and go to another company here because my power here is a sector of the commie ass state I live in.

And for the record im not trolling im trying to do things smart rather than end up in divorce because I spent an insane amount of money on something that my wife doesn't fully support.

Home Depot grow lights do work, you can manually adjust spectrum, just not intensity. Sheetrock painted bright white will be juss fine.

I personally want to do outdoor but im excited and I sometimes dont like to wait 🤣 will i end up doing an indoor grow...maybe not. But i wanted to pick brains to see if it can be done without spending thousands on a setup and in turn cause my light bill to go sky high in a one company market thats price gouging us to death. I no joke know of ppl their avg bill was like 130 a month for YEARS. Then their bill went to like 250...then BAM 1000 bucks in a month.
