I use coco coins. and tap water. I dont even pH.
The cannakan is a product used to sprout the seeds. And if you use a 1% hydrogen peroxide water solution. You will have a high success rate. The cannakan gets almost all the seeds to sprout within two days and its very easy to use. If you have an adjustable warmer, you can kinda mimic the cannakan.

This video explains how to use the method I am talking about. This is a methods used by university's across the world.

I've tried everything at one time or another, but I seem to have the most success with the coins. They are like 36 for $5. I just soak them with tap water and put them in a cheap dollar store mini greenhouse on top of my stereo.

At one time or another I tried it all. Scuffing the seed with sandpaper, putting in a bag of moist soil taped to your window, soaking in water for 24-48 hrs them planting, putting between paper towels in a baggie, straight up planting, H30, rockwool, etc.

I like the coins. Perfect moisture everytime.

Do you dig a hole in the coins and drop the seeds in after you soak em? I was having some luck and watching the video there just realized some heat would have helped big time.

Yeah, I have a germination mat I usually set it on, but this time I set it on my stereo receiver. It's warm enough for condensation on the mini greenhouse lid.

The cannakan is the one thing I swear by. I have had mine for a few years. I have used the coins. They are ok. I have aeration setup for my clones that I use rock wool with. But for seeds I get them to sprout in about 32 hrs, once about two inches from the seed shell, I go straight to medium. And within two more days, they break soil. Cannakan you can use straight water. And you can use the hydrogen peroxide solution with the starter coins as well. The hydrogen breaks down the seed shell, supply's oxygen to the inner seed, and causes an extra warmth while breaking down the seed shell. Maybe try running one with and without, and you will see what I mean.

Sold out..😒

I just messaged someone I know that knows people at cannakan, they should have some limited inventory before Christmas. And should hopefully have enough in stock by January.
Not sure if they're a knock off ..but found the kit for a great price on eBay. https://ebay.us/m/yqZ6mP

In Da Mail! Fuk it, got nothing to lose here. 😏

Edit: well crap.. it is a knock off ..lol, disregard!!! See if I can cancel this order,

Edit2: and the eBay reviews are mostly positive .. give it a shot I guess.

Pretty sure that's the same off brand I sent you lol. It will work. It's a 3d printed one designed off the cannakan. You just need a adjustable warmer mat, or a way to keep the seeds above 72°f preferably a little warmer.

Awesome... Have a mat.. so we are GOOD. 😎

Girl Crush Flower Day 8

My revegged Girl Crush was moved into my flower tent last week after I took a few cuttings. I have been giving her Recharge and fulvic acid weekly. My health has been shit again, but it is what it is. I missed a reservoir fill up for 2 days but nothing drastic. These genetics are tough.

Temps have been low...like 58 at night and day time never over 77. Bad to root cuttings in this weather even with a seed germination mat.

Looking outstanding bro... Love it. I'm close to setting up an earthbox here soon, couple weeks maybe. Do you plant strain into it from seedling? Was thinking of getting them going in party cups then transplant in the earth box.

That's way cool how that revegged like that.

I start in the coco coins, then into the Earthbox. There is a lot of biology in the boxes and I don't trust the bugs to leave my seeds alone. I get my worms from my compost pile so I also get all the protozoa, pill bugs, soldier fly larvae, and predator mites. My compost pile is fall leaves, grass clippings( I don't use chems on my grass), garden scraps. kitchen scraps, egg shells, cardboard, etc. I just ple everything up and the worms take care of it. I also dump my granddaughter's Guinee Pig liter on it weekly and try to keep it covered with barley straw. I'm lazy so I leave it sit for a year instead of flipping it over every two weeks. Cold composting. After a year or so the pile is 70% worm castings.

Stretch is done and flowers set. I'm pretty happy with the bud set I have, these will make decent colas. Not too dense and not to far apart. Nice for drying IMO.

I have been getting the odd bit of red coming on a few of the leaves. This plant turned deep purple the last it was flowered out, but it didnt appear until week 5 of flower. I am on week 3 and this is definitely red.

I added two side light this time, mainly to introduce some heat. On the left side I have a 100 watt Atrium Hydra and the right has an old blurple.

I have feeder roots eating last cycles fan leaves.

I was gonna say .. it's a lot cooler now, the red looks nice, I wouldn't sweat it. Crazy how the roots reach up like that. I'm so anxious to get mine going. Do the original covers last a few grows or did you end up making some custom covers?

I'm pretty uncoordinated since my stroke and they have lasted 3 cycles so far. I do have a new 4 pac ready to go.

The grow is in a closet in the corner of my house and there is no insulation in the closet. My tent is literal 3 inches of wood and a half inch of plaster from the 15 degree winter outside. I added an electric heater set to 65 and that helps. It actually oscillates and hits the length of my Earthbox which is also cool.

I've seen feeder roots a lot in my veggie garden. I use fall leaves as a mulch layer and the roots grow right into them once they start to break down. It only happens if you have a lot of organic matter though. And my garden is more than half cold-composted. I would LOVE to bring my compost inside and use it but I am scared to death. I don't want to fuck up the food chain with pests that have no predators inside..

It is Russian roulette bringing in compost from outside. I tried some from a grass company (just a few miles from me) last year and it was FULL of fungus gnats. The best luck I've had as far as compost goes are from a few online retailers , Build A Soil and KIS Organics are good sources.

Three runs with the stock mulch covers.. that's pretty good.

I just set mine up a few hours earlier. Nothing planted in them yet. I premixed the soil and have it kinda of cooking right now. Watered each pot two gallons each. Could hear a little runoff happening.

Wanted to ask if there are any simple solutions to tell how or when the water runs out from the well once the plants start growing super fast. I think I saw a video of slipping some Styrofoam as a water level meter. Something like that, I'll hunt that video down.

EDIT: Couldn't find the video, might have been a post on a forum but hears a page worth reading (I might do the straw hack)
