So you don't know how to start it, bypass the safety for engaging it into drive by pressing the brake? And then using the gas to go forward? It's a basic know how to how something works πŸ˜‰ again not here to argue lol just to watch a person improve as they grow
That's operating it, has nothing to do with how it "works".

Not once did I say "do this" other than what to follow for success. You might want to consider taking a second to understand information provided before just putting your opinion out there

Of course if it's an auto you need to know less ;-).
Of course! that's why you run longer days with less required ppfd, so having cheaper equipment is more acquired by new growers,as well at not having to worry about flipping the light to a photoperiod time, they are designed for survival pretty much whatever you do

Which is why I'm growing them. LOL

But to drive you need to understand how the vehicle works,
No, you don't.
I have no idea what that means.
YMMV is an initialism that means "your mileage may vary." It's shown on vehicle information stickers that provide an estimate of the gas mileage a car gets. Because driving behaviors differ, the estimates can't be precise. So, your mileage may vary. Either know that and are feigning ignorance to make a point or live in a country that doesn't provide that information. I don't know which. You may not need to know your car's mileage, but if you drive, I hope you have fundamental knowledge of how the vehicle works, lest you would be able to accelerate, brake or steer, because that's part of knowing how the vehicle works.

What's so hard to grasp here. How something works is different that how you operate something. You don't need to know a thing about how an internal combustion engine "works", power steering works, automatic or manual transmissions "work" but you do need to know how to "operate" the vehicle if you want to get from point A to point B in a vehicle. You don't need to know how "electricity" works, resistance works, or electron hole flow works to operate your light switch so you don't piss on your own leg in the bathroom if it's dark but you do need to know how to turn on the light switch.

Sorry @cpurola that this has devolved into this crap. ✌️

I think one is referring to driving a vehicle, while the other took it as you need to know how to rebuild a transmission, if you intend to drive.
Anyway I’m following because some day I might like to grow a plant indoors, and Cpurolas thread is (for me) is a nice place to start. Only I don’t know if I want to drop that much money, and all the β€œscience” behind it seems more technical every post.

I followed it just because she is a neat lady and I like to watch and see what she does. Flowers, plants and weeds ✌️ I posted the DLI study just as a means of opening/broadening mindset as to there is so much more to know and learn. But apparently I offended an ego or two. But that's ok, I've had my pocket card and patch for decades. πŸ˜‚

I think both have pros and cons that ended up with them being about equal. Indoors can be as simple or technical as one makes it. There is also each individuals goals and wants for their bud. Some people are thrilled by smoking mids and some people will do every little thing possible to nudge their buds to the highest top shelf level.

With living soil and dry amendments you can mix soil, plant seed, water, feed every 4ish weeks, and water some more. The only really important things are your DLI and the PH of your water. Theres exceptions and extremes to every situation but give them those 2 things correctly and youll get good bud.

Edit: I'll change the 4ish weeks to "the recommended schedule of your nutrients".

You have to remember that the autoflower is crossed with a photoperiod plant, the ruderalis is bred into the plant, making the dli per strain different for each strain. And there are a lot of variables to the utilizing more light intake into the plant.
I think these guys were trying to say they dont agree with the study because there are so many variables to growing. I would have to agree with them. For example were these students experienced growers and experienced with autoflowers? Did they only have 3 control and 3 variable plants? Did they stunt an auto at some point and affect the yield? And as mentioned light intensity has to be match in intensity by nutes and enviroment to be beneficial.

I also think someones ego was offended. To be fair I didnt know what YMMV meant either.

I have no idea what that means.

But your very apt to tell someone else how? Ok.

Coaches dont play but they know the sport.

I agree, less feeling and more thinking. πŸ˜‰

I coach.....and still play!! Better than most my age πŸ˜‰

Thanks Cpurrrr! I don’t wear them either! I used to all the time! Got tired of banging my melon on low hanging objects hidden by the bill! Decided it was less painful to just get a haircut and shit can the caps! Now, to start dwelling on some retaliation!πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‚βœŒοΈ
