Or is there an alternative method?
Thank you for any feed back.

Jilly got moved into her new home!! 😀

Been a minute, since I updated!!
The winter grow experiment is going about as expected. S.L.O.W. 🤣
JILLY is still alive, and looking healthy, although very stunted. The extreme temp swings & 9hr light cycles have her quite confused.
I have added a grow light, fans and a control unit, but my power supply is insufficient. 4-5 days of over cast sky's doesn't provide enough charge on the batteries to keep the heater & lights going, so the heater gets all the love thats available.
On the upside, my cauliflower, cabbage & broccoli seem to be loving life.

I'm in North East Ohio....brrrr....my autos grow.just fine.....pause..........inside 🤣😂🤣😂 Pineapple Express and Jamacan Dream....using what I have left of the Vivosun Hydroponics Nutrients Base A and B just added Bud Explosion. Do yourself a favor....cut the nutes in half for autos.😁
I'm in zone 5a, which presents enough challenges of it's own, but I'm going to try & grow through the winter this year.
I've been growing photos up to this point, but going to try an auto. Several friends have tried here with absolutely no luck. The autos seem to be a bit temperamental? But... what the hell.
I dropped a Gelato Auto yesterday we'll see what happens.
Trying this in winter may be a futile effort.View attachment 2558198

Try something like this to catch the water.
I used to check ph/ec/ppm.....found it to be a bother....I use rain water and then during winter I aerate my water and let it sit for a day....heat it up before I water/feed. Never had any problems....my plants look great.

Buy some Capt Jack......spray every week. Never have any bug problems again.

Is Capt. Jack ok to use during flower??
Well you would rather not....but if you have a terrible problem....use it. When you go to harvest.....wash them....this is what I used....I had a spider mites issue at harvest... so I washed using this process
5 gal water..add 1 cup peroxide
2nd 5 gallon bucket add 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup lemon concentrate juice
Then I rinse it twice in 2 other 5 gallon buckets....then hang to dry

Thank you all for the feed back. I'll see what I can come up with.

Little update on Jill...
about 4 weeks into flower, and still plugging along. She's definately not winning any races, but she is a fighter. I've thrown every possible bad thing at her... cold, xtreme heat (98°), bugs, some days with ZERO light for 48hrs, too much water, & ocassionally no water at all.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
