Hello farmers
So i been growing an autoflower and running smoothly untill the last 2-3 weeks. Realised i made a big schoolboy error with the nutes and ended up with a big nutes deficiency (wasnt feeding enuf) then i had to go away for 2 weeks with no one to watch the plant and majority of leaves are now yellow. Its almost 11 weeks from sprout, i no its not ready from obvious signs but am wondering whats best to do right now. I gave it a bloom feed 2 days ago. The buds themselves look nice but not finished and are only 1.5-2 inch wide. At this late stage im not sure if they will fatten up anymore and if left for another few weeks may start degrading
Cheers for any input and happy growing farmers 🤟

what were you feeding before? dont just feed bloom nutes always have good amount of nitrogen in there.
Yeah but its literally 11 weeks old from sprout so have slowly transitioned from grow to bloom which seems to be the norm in this late stage but again was not feeding enuf. With all leaves being yellow i thought photosynthesis would be lost and the buds wouldnt really progress any further. I nute feed then water feed alternatly every 3-4 days so wondering how much the nutes will be beneficial with no green fan leavws left
Thanx for the input 🤟

nitrogen is essential. chlorophyll production is just a small part of its function in plants. people have the misconception of feeding high P will give great yields but thats not the truth and there are several studies which shows this. cannabis needs something around 2/1/2 or 3/1/3 ratios of these macros in flowering and most bloom ferts dont have enough nitrogen in them. i understand you are at 11 weeks from seed but that plant has a long way to go still.

also dont overfeed to make up for the underfeeding if anything keep your fertilizer strength on the lower end wouldn’t wanna stress it the other way around now.

well anyway just my two cents ✌🏻

Hey Chrimsonecho your 2 cents is much appreciated lol.
I nute fed it 7ml of bloom in 4.5 litres couple days ago tho chart states 3-4ml per litre but kept within rule of thumb and started with half that dose. So i plain water feed in next day or 2 do you think i should put some grow in that for the N.. and when i nute feed again i will be using 7ml of bloom, how much grow would you think i should mix with that obviously without stressing her.
Im using bio bizz light mix and Earth max grow and bloom i think its called.
I had no probs til 2 weeks ago not even a discoloured leaf and was really healthy. This nutrient def spread really quick and rhe whole plant was yellow in 5-6 days 😒
Cheers again m8 n happy growing 🤟

yeah light mix has absolutely nothing in it so not feeding for a while will do that. don’t know your specific brand of nutes but i’d go 3ml grow and 4ml bloom and stick with that 7ml total and see how that plays off. ofc it will not recover from here on out but atleast you can stop if from getting worse and get it to finish as decently as possible. happy growing.

Many growers say it's best to reduce the N late in flower to improve the flavor. I believe it's true because chlorophyl causes poor taste. The plants aren't actively growing like they are during the vegetation stage, so they don't need as much N. They just need enough to grow the flower buds. Of course, how that's done depends on the growing style.

Yeah my nutes are vita link earth max grow n bloom. I think ill try what you said and see how that goes and keep the fingers crossed. Cheers again m8 appreciated n happy growing 🤟

Yeah i believe this too and only stopped the N about 2-3 weeks ago which i thought was the right time. But as Crimsonecho mentioned think i will be putting some more grow in wirh the bloom for now. Thanx for the input m8 n happy growing 🤟

I ran some autos that looked like that once. Are you letting your media get dried out enough in between feedings/waterings? Stay with the nutes and such discussed above but make sure you are not over/watering/feeding where your soil is constantly soaked. Once I figured out that was my problem, I changed my routine. Auto's are a funny lot. Mine didn't green back up but I did end up with a decent harvest. You are way too far out time wise to be giving up on this plant !!! And possibly, don't believe everything the seed companies print on the package. (If that is your case) Just because they claim it's a 90 day plant doesn't mean anything. I have had regular seeds I purchased that turned out to be autos and vice versa.

Hey Bogus monkey, yes im def not overfeeding or watering and literally letting it dry in between feeds which is every 3 days. Yeah i no the seed company advice is more a less guidance but not fact i just try to go with the flow of reading the plants needs. It was all going sweet til a couple of weeks ago but realised i made a schoolboy error with the nutes then had to go away for 2 weeks so all went pear shaped from there. Anyway cheers for the input appreciated 🤟

Looks like potassium was low at one point and high at another. There's sign of both deficiency and burn. Here's the kooky part. If you also underwatered, then even though you didn't feed, the plants could have become overfed. So how the hell does THAT happen? Well you start out with light nutes in a freshly watered pot. As the soil dries back the concentration of minerals in the water grows because there's less water. Then for a little while the plant gets good nutrients as the pot dries up until it gets too dry and then it's got too much nutrients. For a simple analogy think of a soda from a soda fountain. It's good because there's syrup in it. But let's say it tastes watered down... If you allowed the water in the glass to evaporate some it would start tasting good. Then as more of it evaporates it starts tasting too syrupy and it doesn't taste good. Same thing happens with soluble plant nutrients.

Ive got a mars hydro ts600 which if i rem is 100w and always been hung above canopy at the recommended heights and also depending how the plant is reacting to it. It is more a big nutes def so just trying to jugle the best way to handle it until harvest as the buds look nice at this current stage

Hey crimsonecho
So i took your advice on the nute feed and fed it 4ml bloom n 3 ml grow which was last sunday and 3 days before that i gave a little 3ml grow without bloom to see if a little N boost would give her a little boost. Since then the buds seem to be going well and in a space of 12 days the calaxys have come along nicely.
Now im looking at the buds and most pistils are amber and receeding back to the buds and trichomes inside the bud are just starting to turn amber and i think its all looking at near harvest time, tho thinking of running it for another couple weeks to see if the buds swell anymore and also will be flushing over a 10 day period so just wondering what ur input would be. Ive attached 2 pics 1 of the bud which i posted here 12 days ago and what the bud looks like now
Cheers again for any input.. appreciated as always 🤟

glad to hear that you are having good results man next run just don’t stop feeding grow at all and you will have much better results ime given that you dont overfeed ofc.

sometimes people have the wrong idea about nutrients that they will make their buds grow or their plant grow. this is a misunderstanding perpetuated by fertilizer companies as well but there is only one thing which achieves growth and thats light. the nutrients we are providing are just building blocks that allow plants to make use of the light.

these building blocks are pretty well known at this point and N is one of them and needed in huge amounts all through plants life but its all about the balance in the end. if you adhere to 3/1/2 or 4/2/2-3 ratios all the way from start to finish with good amount of secondary and micro elements present there is basically no chance you will run into nutrient problems with your grow given that you don’t also overfeed and have good watering habits.

it definitely looks like it can go another 2 weeks to me and tbh i dont really do flushes i grow in organic soil so no way to flush anyway and it always comes out fire but if you want sure go for it just don’t feed the last week and whatever’s left in the soil should sufficiently let the plant finish.

Hey crimsonecho
Cheers for that, yeah next time ill have to rem to up the dose to the required amount when starting from half the required dose.. such a schoolboy error lol I will go for another 2-3 weeks max dependant on plant and think i will stick to the 3ml grow and 4-5 bloom to finish up and will only be doing a light flush over 10 days as it hasnt had much nutes through it anyway. Thanx again for the input esp at this late stage of the plant and its managed to turn around sweetly
Happy growing m8 🔥🚀🤟

going away for 2 weeks seems a little risky
