I tried to delete, in agreement. Can't now, I hadn't expected anything but a giggle, nobody would try that. I doubt it's anywhere but a museum.
Roger.

Maybe something that could help......

I just recently started using this

I'm not always fightin with um, but if I can prevent any, shall we say, arguments in the first place......

Ok so we’ve reached the “low budget” portion of the thread! Hahahaha!

I have some DE i use in the chickens dust bath mixes, think I could get away with adding (top dress) my medium to get some of that si in there?

A little research goes a long way with silica amendments. I used a product called Stout MSA from the Alchemist. It’s mono silic acid , which is bio available instantly, without any break down process. It’s got its pros and cons like any product, one of the cons being that it’s unstable and can cause ph swings and can fall out of solution or react with other products. So it’s suggested to use as a standalone product.

The diatomaceous earth is great for bugs in the soil, but once you get it wet it’s got a tendency to cake up and can make watering a bitch. Plus once it’s gotten wet it’s no longer effective.

When I used DE I poked a watering hole with a pencil and used a funnel. As a silica supplement? I've never condisered one but my area is a water lover's garden of earthly delights. Shale aquifers with loamy tops often poking out the side of a hill that got glacier shaved when I was a lad. Springs all over, great lakes and finger lakes watershed. More minerals might be toxic lol.

Ok after reading a little on the silica, itll make the ph jump up. Now i now im a tad bit buffered in my medium but I doubt its as much as It would be in soil. I think i could get away with using it and have my medium buffer though. I’ll start real low on the amount.

I dont PH anything around here except digging! Hahahaha! Post Hole digger… get it? Yeah in know im dumb LOL!😂

Watching this, reading, and thinking...
DE just isn't anything more than a bug emergency fix. Apply, kill the bugs, water it anyhow and (soil) might wiggle pH. Coco is it? Now I read a bit... WHICH KINDA COCO!?! (the hard hitting questions, the answers you want to know)
I digress. But I like it outdoors in the window wells of the basement which formerly had bugs and don't open so don't cause dust. The roses like a top dress midway outdoor. And if anything tries to live under somethig I value, I might try dusting the hole.

As far as coco goes. Washed and pre buffered. Otherwise you’ll waste a lot of cal mag , money and energy trying to fix issues that present themselves as things that they are not.

About the ph jump with silica.....

So I'm not 100% precise with my measurements, and I have yet to ph since I've added G.H.s Armor Si, fwiw, I've yet to use in flower nutes due to me having to use the old first, but I've been adding 1 pump, 5ish ml, to all new veg and flower mixes.....

I've been using it in veg with no problems....so far....

Ok so I DID finally make a thread I'll pay attention to.

Got more seems and holes patched. I’ll try and finish tonight.

The sfv littles are looking good. The am haze I kept in veg is still pretty “buggy”. I just sprayed it again. I’m don’t want to, but I may cull her and use the medium else where. I was also thinking about seeing how hard I can push her with different sprays 🤷‍♂️ Those mites are pretty hardy!

think i got it! worked on it till the lights went off and couldnt see anything. ill go back out there a little later after my eyes adjust a bit, to see what i missed.

and i picked up some neem! opted for the neem over Si at the moment. the si is still top on the list though. got a spray of the agromagen right before lights off this evening. ill hit them with the neem tomorrow night. then the third night ill give’em the ole dr bronners bath! which would put the timing to another agromagen spray the night after that. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Took this shot while i was up on the chair taping the corner of the veg room : )
