I love to visit. Been to Big Bear Lake in a cabin with snow on the ground and sitting in a hot tub at 103F. Living there is just not gonna happen

Time for some carnitas tamales!

I'd made a whole batch of chicken tamales last night but made a critical error. Wife handed me a silicone steam basket, and well the water in the pot ran low and it melted at the bottom of the pot. We didn't trust it was safe to eat cooking in those silicone/plastic fumes so I had to throw the whole batch away without even getting a taste. Meh. I'd rather have the carnitas anyway.

Last night I used corn husks. Tonight I said fuck it, parchment paper. Making tamales two days in a row thoroughly sucks though.

It’s bad man, there was 5” in the road itself since the last plow pass, piles are at least 4’ to 5’ high on both sides of my whole driveway, my back is fucked and it’s still comin down gotta work tomorrow afternoon too

Oh and of course right when we finished the driveway at 10pm he came by and I had to go out and clean it all back out on both driveway entrances (I have a U-turn driveway) so even more to shovel lol

Decided to do a giant tamale of sorts in a separate steamer.
Haven't gotten to the meat yet but I've been picking at the masa and it's delish! Well that's what lard will do. Do it right or don't do it. Do it two nights in a row if you have to!

Few years ago we had same 2m snow i had bunnies behinde my house butthe door was blocked by snow.had to clim my house jump from it clean the door.bunnies where under the table inside the snow just chilling.that year they eat my kiwi all the way up as the snow was falling soo they where climbing 2m tall all bark removed haha
