It would depend on your tap water to be honest. If it's from a well, probably not. If it's city water, let it off gas for 12 to 24 hours to get rid of the chlorine etc. If you put an air stone in the water it really helps with off gassing too, but it's not really a necessity. Just speeds things up a bit.

I'm almost at the seedling stage on my current grow, (have a tap root about 2" long on one and just cracking the shell on the second seed) so in a few weeks I'll be transferring them into 2 DWC buckets with air stones. I was planning on using all distilled water, but after checking our town's website, our water reports are all excellent. I'm going to use tap water for both buckets (and save myself a few hundred dollars over the course of the grow) but will allow them 48 hours to truly off gas before putting it into the reservoir buckets. There are chemical conditioners that do it but I figure by filling a couple of 5 gallon pails a day or two ahead of changes and top ups, I can save the money on the treatments as well.

In short, letting your tap water sit for a day or two definitely won't hurt anything, and will most likely help you, so yes. Let it sit for a day or two, then pH test and adjust the water prior to using it. A good idea is to pH test and adjust, then wait a couple of hours and re-test the pH in the water.

Cheers,

BA.

Can anyone recommend if it will still be okay without letting tap water stand im in the UK north east

also sorry if anyone is getting sick of me but is it okay to add nutrients to the full amount of water im going to use or do I have to add 50% first then top up

If you're talking about calibrating your meter with a powder solution, don't use tap. Ionized water is recommended, but distilled water will suffice. Just not tap.

If you're wondering about letting tap sit before you use it, it's a good move. Fill your watering can I the morning and let it sit in the sun all day. The UV helps the chlorine gas off faster. Normally the EC in tap is fine for your plants but when they're just starting out distilled water is good because they can only handle lower EC and the water already has the threshold for a seedling. Its not all bad EC, you just have no way of knowing what its comprised of without a test.

I meat do I have to let tap wawr sit for 24 hours before I add nutirents and feed plant or will it still work without letting stand
Yes. Let it sit 12-24 hrs before using. I use a 44gal Brute garbage can for water storage. I have a sump pump with a 25' garden hose, hooked to a smart outlet that I control with my phone (I'm disabled and can no longer tote 5gal buckets). The can fits behind the bathroom door and stays full with a float valve and water supply (RO or ice maker water hookup)

What is your budget and growing setup? You in a house, or apartment? Own or rent?

Greenleaf, Megacrop 1 part and supplements (Calmag Plus, Sweet Candy, Kelp and Bud explosion)

Hi Mike can I assume can I add them alongside my a and b nutrients hornets is the brand organic will it replace them 😁

Sorry not.organic meant to.say or.will it replace them 😁

Also im.growing in.co coir.i.dnnoif.that makes a difference ro what nutrients i cannabis.add mike

No — Mega Crop 1‑Part Complete Hydroponic and Soil Base Nutrient is not considered an organic fertiliser in the certified sense. The manufacturer says it contains some organic-derived components and is “organic compatible,” but it isn’t officially certified organic by a standards body like OMRI, and it’s generally classified as an inorganic fertiliser product rather than a truly organic one.

The product incorporates things like amino-acid chelates, kelp extract, silica, vitamins and similar additives, and the brand frames it as vegan and soil/microbe-friendly. But that doesn’t make it an organic standard product under recognised organic certification schemes, and it’s typically described by growers and in community discussions as an inorganic or non-OMRI organic product.

It would replace your current ferts. It's dry fertilizer and very economical, as you are not paying for water (I do prefer General Hydroponics Cali-Magic, which is liquid, over the Greenleaf Calmag Pro)

I'm not familiar with Hornet ferts, I did a quick search on it though... It isn't organic either 👊👊
Organic/non organic is a whole other can of worms.... Personally, I think "organic" is bs intended to get you to spend more money, the other camp swears by it 🤷‍♂️

Okay thanks Mike 😁 and not paying for water ? I just want something i can add alongside my current nutrients when I switch to flower to help my plant along its way

Does your city use chlorine or chlor?? One stinks like a public pool thqt one needs to stay for a few hours or you can heat it up or mix it for an hour airstone does the same plus you get more air

Hesi pk boost would be enough i think thats the cheapest suplimental.

I cant remember in what xou grow but if its not soil then maybe mycos as well
