We're all pretty much envious of natural soil growers like @Mikedin with his cover crops and natural soil grows, I know I am and I've given up soil grows for anything besides trees but this year I'm going to give it another go after watching this video.


Sheet covering, placing brown cardboard over garden space and addng compost, a layer of my horible clay soil and a bit of soil from the forest will get some of my time and attention this spring as well as cover planting in fall. The 3 sisters planting method will be heavily followed on the mounds created. I've got the cardboard and can easily get the forest soil additions and I've got a composter full of composted table scraps. Now if I can figure out a way to keep the gophers from eating everything

That's my theory. Just turn the whole garden into a compost pile, and be done with it

Add fish to it, and you have my outdoor garden soil, from last year. This year I'm trying Pro mix, instead of peat and cow/horse manure, along with EWC or blood meal.

Really surprised how far these moved in 7 days tbh. 4th of Feb and this morning. One hasn't moved much but seems happy enough.

Only difference from the usual start is that I kicked off at around 550umol/s not 150ish this run in a bid to keep the Nevs Haze chucks a bit shorter.

The one gal pot in the middle has a new peat mix. Looks a lot nicer than the last mix and isn't chock full of slow release beads.
