I'm cracking jars tonight... ah, that one's nice. Ooh, that one too! Then another, oof there's that nice berry I dumped sulfer on 🤣 But the Alien OG with the juicy fruit won over everything, even the berry pop tart, and that's because the notes in the terp smell also roll up in the taste and that's pretty rare. You can get a good taste and smell but having them align straight down the throat, that's a rare find.

A few minutes later, this text exchange happened. 🤣

Thank you @Crazyformes .
Problem for me is i also search the net and gets claims from 180 ppfd to 1000+ ppfd. That said and judging how my plants look at 65,000 lux the answer you present seems to correspond well with my own observations. I feel that plants looks healthy but looks like the tricomes nearest light gets smaller in my grow

This is the meter I use.....i keep my LED lights at 40% for veg....and will turn up percentage as we get into flower...I will turn my lights up 70-80%....during late flower ... I shoot at 900 to 1000

I find your information very useful @Crazyformes thanks. Taking notes. What PAR you start with from seedlings?

I ran my White Widow at 65k from mid flower on.
Sometimes they would untrain themselves and I found out what 75k will do to a top.
The question of conversion from lux to ppfd in my mind has been settled at least for my own lights.
I use the app that syncs with the Bluetooth lux tool. When I downloaded it the first time it had minimal spectrum settings.
When I do the app on the new phone I found out it had pre selected the most popular settings for panel type lights at 3500K
So any ways I used the tool and found that the light pattern at 18 inches at 100% was about 5% off from the par map on the lights website. I feel secure that it is a very close in my tent.
And now I use it for setting lights up during the grow but the numbers are guidelines. I have found that when my grows go sideways with fade the ability of the plants to use all this light gets compromised. You should not target your grow for a certain ppdf at a certain growth.
You want good yield you will learn presentations of too much light and bump your lights a few times during the grow and look for negative presentations like tacoing twisting plants actually trying to move out of the light. You may also see and develop signs of a magnesium issue and should be prepared to treat this before continuing to bump the lights up until you start to see signs of the above. When presented back the lights off to the last setting you had no problems and then check the DLI for your time on and off to ensure you are not out of the guidelines.
My last run faded bad. The max light on my well nutrition grow was 46K lux on autos.
This run it was 40K and I treated for mag on 4 of 9 plants.
Tools measure.
Growers grow.

Couldn't agree more

Here is the list of settings I use....

I believe in simple to memorize references. For cannabis light and feeding, when talking to newer growers, I came up with 2-4-6-8. The numbers aren't perfect but will get you there.

Both ppfd and ppm settings...

200 seedling
400 young veg
600-800 mature and flowering and higher values as they can handle it.
Most grows will top out at around 1000 for both if you can even get it that high, but higher is definitely possible, especially with CO2.

But in the interest of simplicity, as a reference I've been sticking to the 2-4-6-8 recommendation. You can memorize it in minutes and never forget.

That's a good thing to remember.....if you have that gauge....in late flower....I will turn up the lights....a bit....and watch for curling...if curling....turn it back down....some can handle more.... some cant.

Exactly. 600-800 is about where you'll have your ppfd where you'll test higher values, and feeding wise you'll be at about 1.2-1.6 EC (600-800 ppm) when you start ramping up the feed.

Al this stuff I keep read about indoor growing and the problems associated with them, it always helps me solidify why I grow outdoors.

We have our problems, too. Just not as often to what I see with indoors.

But it's fun watching y'all. And if I ever do try it, it'd have to be living soil, over the rest of um.
