We had the best music back in the day.

"Dutch rock band Focus debuted their unusual and beloved song, "Hocus Pocus" in 1971. The song, which showcases singer and keyboardist Thijs van Leer's serious yodeling and flutist skills, was ranked as the number one "weirdest song of all time" by American Songwriter in 2024.

Other tunes that made the list include “Bike” by Pink Floyd, released in 1967, Napoleon XIV's 1966 song, “They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!," and “Muffin Man” by Frank Zappa, off the 1975 album, Bongo Fury." I still love Muffin Man🥰

Dutch prog rockers Focus knocked it outta the park with this one

Not a yodeling fan but damn, the story behind the song is amazing:
In a 2021 interview withVRP Rocks, Van Leer, now 71, opened up about the creation of "Hocus Pocus." He recalled that one day the band's guitarist Jan Akkerman began playing what ended up being the song's opening notes, which Van Leer described as "one of the greatest licks in guitar history." According to Van Leer, their drummer, Pierre van der Linden, then joined in with a drum solo. The musician said that he eventually began yodeling.

"I started yodeling behind my organ. For the first time in my life. And that was it. That was the song. And we recorded it for the studio. And it became a big hit," said Van Leer in the 2021 interview.

He said that while he had never yodeled before that, he managed to be "kind of in tune."

"The high notes, I can not make anymore. Since my 50s. The yodeling I can do, but the go up, it doesn't happen, anymore. The guitarist is helping me and the public [at concerts],"

Yodeling and the flute, who'd of thought this song would ever make it to radio? But it still ROCKS😉

found that the light pattern at 18 inches at 100% was about 5% off from the par map on the lights website. I feel secure that it is a very close in my tent.
You had mentioned that once before in either your grow or advice somewhere else (don’t recall exactly) and I thought it was brilliant so it’s exactly what I did. Just so happens today I see a yt video of someone par metering the light I have and guess the fuck what? So damn close to manufacture’s par maps and how I calibrated mine that a difference is negligible. I’m still glad you mentioned it.

When I started growing my yt feed went from cars to weed withing 3 weeks of joining and posting on a web based cannabis forum

Just a coinkydink I am sure.

A few days ago I threw a shot of node pistils starting to get active shortly after the flip. Here's an update showing a top first starting to throw hairs. This is a monstered Grape Pie plant. I'm aiming for a 4/20 chop date. 🤣

Hey is it true that all cannabis harvested on 4:20 get a 5% strength and 10% yield bonus or is that some old D&D rule running around in my brain.....
9's or better.

Right there with ya. Other than starting plants or just f n around with experiments I’m not even trying again. I just don’t dig it.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the grow. We do it outside we put up with the bugs, the heat stress, the animal predation, the human predation, law enforcement, wild humidity swings, bud rot and all the other shit that comes with it and we smile with bugs in our teeth at the indoor clowns never wishing for a grow life like that where you have to deal with all the potential fails of creating an artificial grow environment. And the indoor growers look outside and say thanks but no thanks... you can have your bugs and other shit.

But deep down, indoor growers secretly wonder how much more dank their grow would be if they could give it natural sunlight, and outdoor growers dream of immaculate looking buds without weather deficiencies and chew marks on their leaves.

I dream of an outdoor grow but from growing food for 30+ it is entirely hit or miss in my location. To much close agricultural and end of the Ohio Valley temp swings in harvest window.

This past year the DLI was so bad through mid June I wrote off tomatoes. Ugly mess.

You are absolutely right and that's why I've got one foot in and one foot out. We got hit with successive rain days here in So Cal and that's a sad face on your DLI, so I threw them all in the shed and threw the light on to keep them dry and getting some photosynthesis in.

Everything in veg spends the night in the shed where it's warmer, and two I recently flipped get brought inside. So I'm one foot in and one foot out, portions I do indoors I don't worry about environment because they're hardened to swings and harsher conditions.

If I were to dream big, I'd set up a grow using tree planters on wheels that I could move in and out of a barn equipped with lighting. The benefit of nature's full solar power, and the control to take over when the weather isn't cooperative.

"And if you see me looking fuckin mad, it's because I'm fuckin mad...cunt of the year.". Get some more Oz up in ya.

Some days I just feel like being a menace. But luckily this music is my outlet instead of being a cunt.

Jokes aside i remember the yodeling song. Iconic .First time seeing it in video and hearing the story though 👍

Anyone with thoughts about Starlink. I am very remote and my DSL (very slow) just went up another 12 bucks for this shit speed. Anyone use the Starlink Residential 100mps? It's available where I am and is only $50/mo (same I'm paying for 10) with no equipment costs. My wife was skeptical so anyone with experience with it?

Take a step into the 21st century. You just order the weather you want online. There should be plenty options. The one i heard about was called weather production iirc. You're welcome😉 actually not a joke sorry

Can not game with it as the ping is shit but streaming and other stuff fine. I have a cuz in the mountains of Nevada and that's his only option.

I've heard from a few people who went that route, some of them coming off Hughes Net. Heard nothing but good things... so far.
