Ive had good results with Gaia green living soil, all purpose, and power bloom. Throw in earth worm castings and recharge. These 5 ingredients will easily take you from seed to harvest.

All organic and I also have some Neptune fish and seaweed for emergencies.
This sounds like a solid setup for nutrients

So again, being a first-time grower, I decided to simplify. After my previous 2 waterings of just plain tap water, she perked up. It may have been a two-fold issue, but I’m not completely certain. The first issue being the using of the API water conditioner. This was a mistake I think of me over-thinking the watering PH and worrying about it too much. The second issue was the possibility of her being over-watered. I let the top inch or so of soil dry out completely and the hydrometer was around 24%. What I forgot to completely mention and I think what saved her from getting wet feet was my addition of Hydroguard to my waterings.

In whatever case, she’s doing better and flowering is coming along nicely! The white pistils are growing longer and I noticed that some of her damaged leaves are even starting to point straight again. I know this won’t reverse damage but definitely shows me that things are improving.

Again, with simplicity in mind for now, I decided upon MegaCrop 1 part. My last watering a day ago was the MC 1 part and Hydroguard. I’ve also purchased and will be adding Bud Explosion and Bud Candy to enlarge and enhance those long-awaited, (hopefully) beautiful buds that’ll begin to appear soon. So each watering will contain (in order of adding to water): MC 1 part, bud Explosion, Budy Candy, and finally Hydroguard. I do know that I’ll have to be careful with amounts and introduce somewhat slowly. Any recommendations for how much to add? 5 gallon fabric and will take about 1-1/2 to 1-1/3 gallons until she starts dripping from the bottom for info. Thanks!!

Also, updated pics coming today

Hello all. As you can see, my flowering is coming along pretty well but I noticed the tips still seem to be burned. I’ve adjusted lighting and it seems to have helped, but any thoughts? I think I’ve got watering under control now as I only water when the top inch or two is dry which is now every 3 days as she’s bringing soil moisture down to around 25% at that point.

I can’t wait to see these buds swell up. I’m thinking within a week that’ll hopefully begin to happen.

Cheers!

Correct on the auto and light schedule.
I've noticed that the top inch is not completely dry when watering using the 'first knuckle, finger test'. Could this be the issue??
On one occasion I did notice her leaves began to droop around the 34% mark and after watering she perked back up so I presumed around 35% was the time to water.
Hey silverrain
I just finished an auto and found the best way to test the soil for watering is the finger test. I stick my finger in as far as the top knuckle and i go for the top 3 quarters of the soil mostly dry with moistness near the bottom before watering and it works a treat n i watered every 3 days.
Happy growing 🤟

Yellow tips are from too much light a lot of the time. Since you adjusted and it helped then youre good. That damage wont fully go away so its good practice to memorize the damage. That way you can still use the leaves as a gauge in the future.

That’s what I’ve found to be effective. With that practice, I’m watering every 3 days now.

Just wanted to follow up with all of you and she’s been progressing well. I’ve look under a jewelers loupe and it seems the trichomes on the buds are mostly milky so I think tomorrow the chop will happen. Thoughts?

Have you looked for cannabis feed charts for the products you chose?
I am done winging it with my own ideas.

Here is the calculator for additives. If you search you can find the calculator for the one part. It also lists the expected EC / PPM

I agree with jimk u really need to check the feed charts for the nutes you are using.. winging it is one way to mess things up.. nute burn or under feeding.. shes looking well tho 👍

Nah she aint there yet. Keep her going and let her ripen.
I agree she looks sweet but i think shes got a bit to go.. let her go for another couple weeks at least n i think u will see a big difference. All that work u put in so u really dont want to chop it early as tempting as it is. Defo give her another few weeks and u will b glad u did. Happy growing and keep us posted how shes doing 🤟

Wow, been a member for an hour and learned something new already. Never heard about water conditioner before.

We have a lot of chlorine in our water and when I tap it pH is all over the place so I just do like mah used to do it and let it stand in an open jug for at least a day and water stabilizes at 6.7-6.8 and with cal-mag and nutes it lands at 6.2-6.3 and is good enough for soil.

All good then i dont even check ph as i no its fine.. i fill my 5 litre jerry can and let it sit for 24 hrs to dechlorinate and did this from start to finish with no probs at all.. no supplements or anytthing added as i wanted to do my grow as basic as possible.. maybe i was just lucky lol Happy grpwing 🤟

I’ve had her drying now for 4 days and coming along nicely. Temps are pretty stable, 65F temp and 55F RH.

I acquired some reverse genetics beans, photo. That’s going to be my 2nd grow, any recommendations except adjusting light to 12/12? I plan to grow in soil again, veg her for awhile until she swells up and then begin flowering. By then I hope to have the AC Infinity Terraform 8. It’s a bit overkill but I can set that to a very low setting and it should maintain temp, humidity and air flow (along with fans, of course). Frankly, im excited to get it.

I hope im not straying off topic too much.
