Woke up at 4am for no particular reason other than some night sweats so I decided to wake and bake.

I was today years old when I learned what excentrifugal force is. It's the phenomenon best exemplified when your washing machine is dancing across the laundry room floor. 🤣

Also, this isn't the first time I've cued this up from YouTube, but it's the first time I noticed that Frank blinks his eyes! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Depends.
Some of the country has a type of calcium ( calcium carbonate) that is locked up and some of it is useful ( calcium bicarbonate)
Both of these get active in a salt enviroment.
Bicarbonate leaves a white powdery when water evaporates and I believe sometimes this gets called a salt line.

If your local water company does not send you a report yearly you can prolly find it online if you know the system. I have western water company and had it tested. Due to 440 ppm it was recommended to use ro water.
I start cal-mag at maintenance dose when my lights hit 75% of expected high power or if a def shows up. I do not get calcium issues and any mag has been overwatering.
Ok i'll try proceed with my tapwater.
It's from different sources so water report is not transparent.
I do have around 440 ppm and lot of white powdery.

You can do a professor pronto chemistry experiment to check your water.
Allow at least 16 oz of water to dry up by evaporation in a stainless steel bowl.
The remains will be 2 kinds of calcium and whatever else is in the water but the carbonate leaves scale and can scar the stainless and the other one leaves a powder that can be wiped up.
A look at the amounts can tell you the mix in the water.

440 is not bad for soil but in hydro i had the same400ppm and some strains didn't mind but some just didnt want to grow until i got RO.but the same strain when i transferred in soil went back to normal strange.

🤣🇺🇸
I have developed a prejudice against Americans.

My best friend here is from Texas, my homie, awesome guy, so I meet like 20 Americans quite often so I know all Americans now, you know how racism goes right.

You guys lean on stuff don't you? 😐 You ALWAYS lean on something. A vehicle. A dumpster. There is handprints over my toilet because you lean when you take a piss 🤨 Do you understand hygiene? I am starting to understand why every other post about growing weed contains something about weird ass pests just magically appearing in your grows. Shit that looks like a hobo been rubbing his ballsack on it and gave it hobo-clap. On the upside my home is a lot tidier now that I walk around with a paper towel and Windex all the time.

Sorry. Thanks. I needed to let that out.

I honestly don't recommend running for adults who hasn't been running all their lives. It's heavy af on the knees. Bicycling or walking is much better. Bicycling the best actually. You'll soften up the knees and feel generally better. In my opinion.
Very true, I did a lot of running from teenager to early 30s, and ran cross-country in high school and now my knees are paying the price. Hate the stiffness and pain when I get out of bed in the mornings. Getting old ain't for sissies.

Great idea. I put it on the stove on low heat.
I'll tag you when done 👍

Well that wasn't supposed to attach.!!🤣

I do most of my browsing from my phone in a comfortable chair and when using a touch screen and scrolling I inevitably wind up having my fingers pass over "reply," "quote," and sometimes even "flag." NO... I didn't mean to flag Hoss' post, I meant to click a user response because it was funny as shit! So if you get banned it's not cause I hate you, it's cause I got high. 🤣

Because we're not all the prude type. I was raised with manners, proper etiquette, ect. ect. Hated it.!
I'm not perfect, don't hold myself above others unless obvious, and don't give a flying shit. I treat everyone with respect till proven not worthy of it.

I'm a easy going, realist..😁

It's mutual.

All the Ca ions in your water are available to the plant until it evaporates and forms calcium carbonate. You should never use additional Ca in your grows with that tap water.

I use hard water too, 350 ish. Besides cleaning the scale off equipment it's not a problem in hydro if you're feeding enough K and Mg. Something to keep in mind though when you're dosing nutrients or troubleshooting problems.

If you don't want to spend the dough on a RO machine, there's Zero Water filters which I have and work great for cheap. When I started I was using half and half with tap but I eventually got lazy and stopped. So far no ill effects.

I have this one. Does exactly what it says.

Edited to clarify: it's not a problem in my hydro setup, but in soil 440 ppm tap water is going to cause salt buildup problems fast.

Thank you very much @Grownsince95 Good info.

Yeah i use RO water normally.
I don't know if i have to but i just have the idea that i like the ppm from the nutes i mix. Not the water.
Maybe it's just me over thinking it?

It was just because i heard somewhere here, that the plant need calcium to ripen.
Then i thought i could get away with giving tap water at the end of flowering, and i'm doing that now.

And now we check the water when evaporated.

Yeah use the RO! Your tap water will be difficult. The plant definitely needs Ca 24/7/365 for hormone signaling but your nutrients should have plenty. If you're "flushing" or you're unsure just add your tap water to the RO until you hit 75 ppm then add whatever nutrients after.

Not ideal in every situation, but if you've got hard water, gypsum is a good supplement source with a low pH and EC contribution. Only so much of it will dissolve in water at a time so it has built in overfed protection too. I use gypsum and epsom for cal mag but I've been wanting to try out some Cal Nitrate for the green boost to see how it might fit in to what I'm doing.
