He says it don’t smell, I’ll soon find out. Traded the bait from a tackle shop, weed for fish. I felt like Jesus, or something like that.

Sand eels are pretty delicate. I used to use a cast net for peanut bunker. One cast and you’d get tons of them. The adults are in big schools, cool seeing whales feeding on them.

Being born and raised on the Great Lakes my dad would use smelt. Plentiful back then.

She looks fine. I cleaned up the damaged leaves. And pollen season down here.

I’m hoping this weekend’s weather doesn’t kill off too many pears.

Yessir. That's only one of many buckets of gills I collect each spring.
I supply most of the fish for our yearly family N friends fish fry.

When I go fishing, I don't stop till the live well is full. No limit in Ohio.

I keep everything I catch, little ones get buried whole. I've got 27 years of fish carcasses buried in my garden. U don't dare step into that garden without shoes on.

Yep...lil 5wt flyrod, box of weighted nymphs I tie myself (hares ear ) spool of 4lb mono for tippet, and hemo's for hook removal . A small net for those monster red ears.

If I had my choice.... yellow perch is on top, then bluegill. Love some cat fish too. And don't count out the walleye, though I'd take the perch, over them.

Same. Or carp. Or heads from the market. Will be my first year not feeding the soil tho. Last two years couple strains gave the claw. Gonna give them a break this year.

10 days from germination
Yesterday was their 1st light feeding of miracle grow, slow release organic fertilizer.

BSHP seedlings are about ready for bigger pots, and curious to what will become of the runt. It's surviving, just way behind, and looks to be lacking one of its first leaves. Fuckin paraplegic

CDHP is going well, along with its runt. I shall call u...Micro, the little plant that could.

And the 90s mystery seed.... nothing showing. I believe their no good anymore.
Aren't regs just so much fun. !!!!
I just want a female from each strain. I've tried sooo many times with regs, to no avail. Maybe to the point of I'd have had better odds with winning the lottery.

32 strains to begin. Is always when the stress begins. Who will open? Who wont? Who will change your breeding projects? What will suprise you? Exciting and stressful at the same time!! Bittersweet how germination is also the first cull.
