Hello I have a bunch of seeds that I want to store for a while I am thinking of leaving them in the original packaging and putting several of them in a Vacum sealer bag with a 5gram desiccant bag and Vacum sealing it shut I will have several bags than putting them into a water tight Home Depot container and putting them in the fridge.
Thoughts ? I want these seeds to last I'm worried about this shit with the government !!!!!

This is what I'm storing them in I'm going to figure out a way with tape or something to make the lid light proof

I'm going to be Vacum sealing the seeds in plastic bags than storing in the container is that not good ?

Mason jar in back of fridge where it’s not too cold; don’t want to put it in a fridge you use for beer or one that gets stuffed so full things can start freezing. I’ve had 15 year old seeds pop in less than 24hrs. I would not vac seal the seeds. Would hate to have two get pressed together and crushed under vac; I’ve had some seeds that are way more delicate than others.

I just saw this on Amazon what do you guys think instead of coffee beans I’m gonna store weed beans lol

Window allows light to get in. For me this is a no.

Ideal Conditions for Cannabis Seeds

Cannabis seeds have four main enemies:
1. Humidity
2. Temperature
3. Light
4. Oxygen

Ideally, you want to store your seeds in a cool, dark, and dry place. Whenever possible, keep your seeds in their original packaging. At Royal Queen Seeds, we’ve specially designed our packaging to protect our seeds until you’re ready to plant them.

If your seeds get exposed to light or rapid changes in temperature, these conditions will trigger them to use up their nutrient stores before they ever see soil, meaning they won’t have the nutrients they need to germinate. High humidity, on the other hand, can trigger fungi to grow on your seeds.

I have one similar to this one. I also wraped the bottom portion in black electrial tape although that may be overkill. I also vacuum pack MOST of the seeds before putting them in the container.

So you can actually get the attachments to vacuum the lid on the jar; guessing that would be ideal if you aren’t cracking it open all the time to settle arguments on the internet 🙃
That would defiinitely be overkill for me as I have given away 30 seeds in the last few days. I would wear out the sealer, lol.

I was going to tape the window shut
