Hey everyone! 👋
Currently growing in living soil 🌱and learning more with every run. I enjoy keeping things natural, building healthy soil, and letting the microbes do their magic 🌿✨. Thinking about trying hydro soon 💧 to experiment and compare methods. Currently in veg week 6 ->(7)soon.

Always happy to learn, share, and talk grows! 🌱🍁💚

Looking good. I usually dont scrog so soon but use "U" shaped wires to pin down branches (made from coat hangers) until they get to long then tie them down to side of fabric pot with long bread tie like wires before using the scrog. But thats just me, everyone has their preferences.

That’s a solid way to do it 👍 I like the coat hanger pin idea to spread them early, that’s smart. Then tying them to the fabric pot and adding the scrog later sounds like a really clean setup 🌱 Appreciate you sharing that.

It allows me to remove to defoliate, and lollipop.

Nice looking plants man! I usually just use the bendy clips to LST the branches for a better spread. Love them cause they are easy and reusable. I only get the scrog up when the buds get super heavy and are at risk of snapping under their own weight.

Have you done your homework on hydro? Curious as to how much a transition away from living soil would cost to setup a hydro system. I know it was surprisingly pricey to transition from synthetics to living soil but that's cause I went all in on a big chunk of the build a soil lineup.

i used to do S wire and pin it in the holes but now i got a hard scrog mesh 10 or 20cm holes
i would say hooks work the best i just got bored of them.allsoo anoying at harvest when you realise just how much of them you put under.

super cheap aquarium pump and a bucket. pack of net pots and rockwook pucks.masterblend dry nutes i consider them one of the cheapest nute and almost designed for weed. oh and a precision scale for the dry nutes.

Yeah man I’ve actually been doing a lot of homework on hydro lately. It’s pretty interesting how different the whole setup and feeding strategy is compared to living soil. From what I’ve seen the startup cost can vary a lot depending on how simple or dialed you want the system to be. A basic setup isn’t too bad, but once you start adding things like good reservoirs, pumps, air stones, meters, and environmental controls it can definitely get pricey.

Living soil was similar for me too — it didn’t feel expensive at first until I started grabbing a bunch of the Build A Soil stuff and building the system properly. Hydro seems like the same story: you can start simple, but it’s easy to go all-in if you want it really dialed. That’s one thing I really like about growing you can feel when a garden is being taken care of with patience and love. Good environment, good care, and just letting the plant do its thing. The tech and systems just help us guide it a bit

Haha yeah I know exactly what you mean. I used to do the S-wire and pin it through the pot holes too. It works great but after a while you look under the canopy and realize you’ve got like 50 of those things holding branches down 😅 Harvest turns into a little treasure hunt pulling them all out.

The hard scrog mesh with the bigger 10–20 cm squares actually sounds pretty nice. Probably makes it easier to spread everything evenly without constantly adjusting hooks. I still like the flexibility of clips or hooks early in veg, but once the plant really starts filling out a solid scrog makes life easier.

Honestly though, whatever keeps the canopy flat and the light hitting everything is the win. Everyone ends up finding their own little system after a few runs anyway 🌱

Always fun to see a screen in use. Nice grow. I like messing with screens too. Ima tag along n see how yu do it.
Haha appreciate it bro 👊 Screens are fun to play with for sure. Right now I’m mostly just bending the stems under the screen, kinda like low-stress training, just guiding them where I want them to go. Still figuring out the best way to fill the screen evenly, but it’s coming along. Feel free to tag along and throw tips if you got any!

oh and a second net is great to have as well.last time i didnt use it and after removing a few branches the whole plant collapse couldnt hold itselfe. soo i use the net almost at the top just for support

Ahh yeah that makes sense. I’ve seen that happen before when the weight starts stacking up. A second net up top just for support is a good call.

Scrogs are a blast to grow with and very productive. I run floater screens today. Keeps me mobile with the plants if needed and I get the same scrog effect.

Recirculating drip system with rockwool is the way to go for monster plants. More pricey than dwc, prolly $500 to $1000 for pumps, reservoirs, rockwool, etc. (it seems you can't buy anything these days without drooping at least a $20)

I use (dry) megacrop 1 part & supplements; it's cheap and made for cannabis

Clones. day 53 of 12/12. Only vegged 16 days. Never topped or trained. Right side of 4x8 are 2 plants, under 3 nets 👊

Nice setup 👊 Recirculating drip with rockwool can definitely push some monster plants. Those nuggets look dense though hopefully you’ve got strong airflow and humidity under control. Mold can hit hard when buds stack like that. I always try to keep plenty of air moving through the canopy and keep RH on the lower side in late flower. Would be a shame to lose anything to bud rot after getting this far!
