So, I have a fair bit of experience growing indoors and outdoors.

Where I live has a typical Mediterranean climate...as in hot 35C plus summers, and mild winters that don't normally produce frost (once or twice every decade), but can cause night temps to drop to around 2C-5C....

Indoors is always a challenge in the winter, as there is no central heating, but it is manageable with the occasional heater and control over the extractor not drawing in to cold a air...

This year thanks to a slight location change I'm able to try something new, but searching here there and everywhere I can't find shit to help back me up with my issues....

Popped Runtz on Xmas day, indoors under 400w LEDs, growth exceeded expectations if I'm honest. Topped at 3-4 weeks, and at 5 weeks old/mid January they were moved out to a greenhouse. Day time temps on good sunny days, in the greenhouse (relatively common) were around 20C...not ideal but they were loving it....night time obviously temperature dropped, but they weren't showing too much stress.

They took much longer to flower than I had expected... especially as the day time hours were around 10.5 hours...
I wasn't expecting easy ride, and of course temp stress has caused a few nanners to pop up on just under half of plants (I consider myself lucky as after plucking, there are not too many brown hairs, and only one plant has continued to produce)...ciao!

However, my issue is not with the hermaphroditism, which is well under control and expected..... it's with re-vegging.
Several plants are showing signs, 2 well on the way of revegging...WTF. The equinox has only just happened so I'm 2 days into 12/12.
In my experience (I've overwintered budded outdoor plants before and revegging started to take place mid April), this shouldn't be happening.
So after a full explanation of the issue/experience... what is going on?? Are plants sensitive to slow gradual increments of daylight?? Or should reveg only happen once the "12/12" barrier has been crossed??(even though you can technically flower on 13/11).

Any help would be very much appreciated as it's chop now and extract, or wait 2 weeks and smoke... I prefer to smoke hahaha

If your in the northern hemisphere your days have been getting longer since December 21 all the way till June 21
Thanks for replying, I am already aware of this.
This is the exact reason for my question. Anything useful to say?

How long were they in flower before they started to re-veg?

Everything is slowed way down in winter due to the colder overnight temps and limited amount of sunlight during the day. The seeds that I started in mid-October are only just now ready to harvest. I cut the supplemental lighting the second week in January.

If it's outside and the days are getting longer, that's what the hormone signaling is telling the plant.

Phytochrome far red to red conversion is decreasing. Spring has sprung. Cannabis doesn't count the hours. Anything with sativa/equatorial DNA will be more sensitive.

You could probably flower the same plant in 11 hrs of dark as long as it stayed the same every night. It's the daily increase that's the problem.

Are you sure it is uninterrupted darkness? No street lights, porch lights, motion activated, security lights, switching on and off all night? Even the living room light shining on them through the window can confuse them! Neighbors lights hitting them?

this is what I was struggling to find info on
...it's all about more than 12 hours of darkness, but not the slow increase or decrease in available light.. I started thinking that this obviously makes a difference due to the normal flowering from August onwards... obviously not 12 12, so the plant must be sensitive to the gradual increase or decrease....

They were coming up on week 6... so it's a bit of a pain, I had thought about bringing them back in to finish....but I don't think they'll fit back in the tent...haha

Yeh it's impossible....rural area as dark as it can get..

it's weird because they are all the same strain, showing 2 predominant phenos, and some are showing reveg while others no....
it can be such a confusing plant sometimes!
