My Dad's garden tractor is 6 inches to tall for the garage and I ALMOST asked hubby if he could take the roll bar off. After seeing your experience, no, not gonna happen. Wow.

So glad you're okay. (having a tough time keeping my MOM advice to myself. LOL)

You’re right about that bar! Kept it from going right on over! I wonder if he made a jump for it or just rode it down. The LZ looked pretty soft! Getting a little old for this shit, ES!
I bailed off and rolled downhill, all while hoping I was rolling faster than the tractor. I was relieved when it stopped and I was clear of it.

Same with my rollbar. I believe it’s also about 6” too tall. But it fits through the barn doors.

You always think you can stick the landing when something happens. We always say that if I fall off a roof or any height, I’ll do the paratrooper roll, I’ll be good . When ever I fell, a few times, you know you are falling , next thing you know you are laying on the ground watching birds fly by. Accidents happen in the blink of an eye!

Just hurt my pride. Second time in 26 years I tipped over. Thanks to my neighbor and his tractor to the rescue. Didn’t take him long to get it upright. Disheartening watching fluids, (oil, hydraulic oil, and diesel) draining out while trying to figure out a plan. Then once upright, towed it over to the garage for inspection and fluid replacement.
Pride is just for that! Can take a beating and keep on keep’n on! Smooshed noggin… not so much!🤣 dude, very happy you didnt wind up under it in any capacity 🤗 awesome your neighbor was able to help you out.

are you versed in diesel engines and what not?

It’s a pretty simple machine. I’m just concerned about oil filling a cylinder (hydraulic lock) and bending a rod. I’ll turn it thru a few revolutions by hand, before I try to start it.

So let ask, what’d you do hit that terrace wall wrong or come off wrong?
I couldn’t back up, because the log I just pulled in behind me, so I disconnected the strap, and slowly moved forward to creep down. Once one of the front wheels “crested”, the tractor (on 3 wheels now) dipped and was going over. I bailed at that point.

Thankfully I never flipped one I’m sure I would have shit myself. Came close though. Glad you’re good and hopefully the tractor too. 1. They’re expensive and 2. It’s a pain to haul em to the dealer for major repairs.

Yeah, you don’t wanna do that! Hopefully you don’t have to pull the glow plugs and crank it and blow whatever is in the cylinders out, if anything!

I know they only use them to start! Run on compression! But I thought they had to have them! Once again, I stand corrected!
Direct injection. No plugs or preheater needed (older Perkins). In fact since none of lights work the only reason there’s an alternator needed is to charge the battery for the starter. Since I always have my Schumacher charged up I really don’t even need it then. These old Perkins three bangers with direct injection are a beast.
