Right around 36hrs later and 7 of 9 seeds have a tail. Im going to wait until this evening then all 9 will get planted. Hopefully thos other 2 crack open for my peace of mind.

how is your nitrogen after stretch? its one of the biggest reasons for production of leafs
I think the N in the floranova bloom is too high but each plant had its own issue too. The extra N, plant issues, and the heavy defol all had a hand in it. The heavy defol I do increases cytokinins and tells the plant to produce more leaves. I need to find the balance and get my pruning dialed in. The extra N in the bloom will be fixed before the next hydro grow. The mentioned plant issues are actually me issues and I just have to do better.

The gorilla cookies got a spa day today. Did some thinning and light canopy work.

With the roots in the res I decided doing full changes isnt a bad idea. Had a bit of a clog. I drained the res down until the pump couldnt suck any more which leaves 1-2 quarts maybe. Then I dumped 2-3gal of ro water in and drained it again. I repeated this until the water coming out of the res was clear. Filled the res one last time with some ro water and I used that to flush the cubes, clean the roots, and clean the lid up some. Used the 1/2" drain hose to pump it up to the cubes and flushed them for 10-15 minutes. One last drain and added a fresh batch of nutes at 2.0 ec. I moved the air stone to the middle of the res behind the pump to maybe better distribute oxygen to the roots.

The only seed to not open was the white widow. Im not giving up on it but thats the one that would bother me the least if it doesnt make it. Id just leave the pot by the humidifier open. Pics when they sprout.

Everything sprouted. The strawberry pie had helmet head. I got the shell off last night and let her figure out the seed coat. Well this morning she still hadn’t done it so I had to help her. The gold glue broke her tap root when she was curling herself out of the rockwool. The break was low enough she still had some tap left. I tried to position her to have a chance to still make it. So I might lose the strawberry pie and the gold glue.

Checked on the seedlings. Everyone is okay at the moment. Strawberry pie has opened and can see leaves now. Gold glue hasn't changed much which is kinda good. She hasn't started declining in health yet. Maybe she makes it and is a runt but I'd be okay with that considering.

They all got mykos as I was planting and today I hit each cube with 40 ml of a weak recharge mix. Trying to get those roots going. Once they are growing out the bottom I'll move them into the soil.

The big one! She has clearly switched focus to bud production so it's time for the last schwazz. I targeted any leaf with a visible stem. Of course with her having so many leaves I missed some but the idea is all fans. I also thinned the branches and removed the slackers that wouldn't produce.

This trauma puts the plant into emergency/survival mode. She is going to release a bunch of energy and hormones trying to regrow everything so she can survive. Guess we're all that energy and hormones goes if she has already switched to bud production.

Moved the little ones into soil. 5 of them had roots out the bottom. There are 3 potential loses in the next few days.

Gold glue doesn't have any roots. Lol.

The toofless alien has a problem with the first tiny set of trues. Can't really see what's going on but they aren't developing correctly. Almost looks like half of them are missing and it's just the base.

The strawberry pie had the helmet head and just looks weak plus I dropped her on her face moving to soil. 😢

I think the small one looks good enough. Doesn't seem like it got much damage.

Got some rock wool to increase my germination rate, hadn't a chance to try them out..
Is it worth to use Mycorrhiza? and do you soak the seeds before planting in?

Im a believer. I hit them with some recharge for all the beneficials too. Just wanted to give that tap and root system an early boost.

Yes I like to float my seeds in ro water until they have a tap or at least 36hrs. Rockwool is alkaline at 7-8 so its important to soak the rockwool in PHed water for a while. I usually give them a few hours minimum and I shake the water out of them at least 1 time during the middle of the soak. Dont squeeze the water out of them it permanently compresses the fibers and restricts oxygen exchange.

Updates on the kiddos.

Gold glue is still alive but not much happening on the surface. I'm guessing all the action is underground and she is rebuilding roots. You can barely see the tiny trues in there and they are getting bigger just slowly.

Strawberry pie is hanging in there. You can see the cotyledons never developed properly from the helmet head. Those first trues are slowly growing tho.

Here is a close up of the toofless alien. Looks like I was seeing a very tiny cluster of trues. Never seen this before.

Dont follow my example of rockwool in soil. Ive been fighting with these kids about water since putting them in the soil. The mbap was completely limp on the ground 2 days ago. Overall the whole batch just arent off to the start I expected.

I left the top of the cubes exposed to air thinking it would help with oxygen. Turns out its wicking the moisture away from the seedlings and allowing it to evaporate. So make sure to fully bury the cubes when putting them in soil

Im getting ready to start some seeds in tiny rockwool cubes. Then im tossing those into a promix like mix in solos! Wish me luck! Hahaha
