Lump hardwood charcoal for your grill is a cheap way to obtain bio char. There's plenty of fines in the bottom of each bag, or bust up the pieces with a hammer and soak it in a tea.

yeah the ash from a used bqq works wonders outdoors, we used to raid the bins for out of sell by date canned sardines and fruit and veg we found that worked best for under soil prep , nature took care of most of it afterwards ,

There are some members who have the head piece lenses that I’ve considered getting. But for now the loupes work ok. They are a pain in the ass though! : )

smoking it wet in a home made pipe gives you a better look than a x30 microscope

Hey @Ninjadogma : ) the coco plugs you used that were screwing your waterings all up. Were they in 16ish solos or like the little peat pellet sized things. Im going to use the mini solos, i figured the coco would be pretty minimum for the up potting.

This has kind of turned into a little science project lol! I broke down and ordered a small square of rockwool to get things going also. I need to dial in something for all these seeds for outdoor.

DUDE!🤦‍♂️ i feel like at this point i should have seedlings down!🤣 I feel like I got all the other things somewhat down. seedlings though, they kick my ass every freaking time : )

They were 16 oz solos of coco that was getting fertigated a couple times daily so it was moving from hydro to soil. Plants transitioned beautifully really. But yeah it really changed the watering. Not in a bad way , just different. Peat rehydrates noticably slower than coco so when you have different zones in the soil, it has to be managed/watered right or else the peats not getting wet enough and problems start.

You know I tried this, yes? Plants were a bit older AND I had flipped them. Probably ALL MY FAULT🤣 but I lost a full month of growth. It was pathetic.

I can see that. Yeah, the peat is horrible after it dries too much! Gotta sit there and water for like 4 hours. And like you say the problems start : )
