Not an accident.
I was born a " blue baby " in the 60's.
Prolly no one under 50 has even heard of that as advances in medicine have helped but basically a congenital heart defect where the lower chambers of the heart have holes or hole in them. Most children die due to high blood pressure in the heart to lung system do to flowback
By the time I was 2 they had drugs to halt the blood pressure thing. First 5 years was endless hospital stays and ear infections and oxygen tents.
Then 1 of 2 hospitals gave me a shot. Loma Linda had the first success and then Childrens Hospital of Pittsburg. I was there for a month with recovery for open heart surgery.
This is related to but not the cause of my back problems.
For 5 years I had a condition known as failure to thrive due to constant low oxygen levels. Digestion does not work well and my bones did not grow properly. By early age this was now baked into my cake.
So age 8 I get the approval to be a normal kid with the exception of no contact sports like football.
So I became a 70's free range kid. Pretty sure my parents had no clue what I was up to. Had a ravine close by that was part of the Erie canal water system and spent most days in a forest 300 yards from my house.
Then Dad bought me a weight set.
Then I got a job at age 12 carrying gilf clubs for rich people. Every summer till 18 for 4 months and weekend till the weather broke I walked 6 to 8 miles up hills and carrying bags.
By age 18 I was prepared for the rest of my life.
I was going to join the USMC.
I knew I had an uphill battle as I did have a slight residual blowing murmur and they would here it so with the help of my dad and grandpa who knew people he got the Camp Perry rifle range that had an old Ecourse and a Range master that said he would help.
I showed up after the asvab test for the medical evaluation in tip top shape with a letter from the DO of CP that this recruit can pass the exit requirements of the department of defense basic training on entry.
Did not work. Declined 4f
So that is the story about how I got my awesome body. And it's also the story of my medical condition.
I had put much stress and strain on my young body and the muscles responded like they do.
The skeletal structure not so much. I never developed the joint size or the bone density to properly maintain the awesome self.
Shoulders hurt first but not bad enough to stop working.
Then a back spazm that made me sore
Than 6 months later again but this was worse and longer.
6 years later I am a teacher cause I could no longer work on cars 50 hours a week.
Even parts of my body not under weight are collapsing. My neck looks just like my lower back but other that limited movement I have no symptoms for that.
2 knees, 3 back surgeries and more epederal injections than I can count.
Pain management clinic was going to result in my death. Up to 3 10's a day and the next stem was hillbilly heroin 50 mg extended release. The numbers were shit 75% addiction rate and medical supervision to stop using it.
That brought me to the Ohio Medical Cannabis program and got me off opiods.
And that brought me here to my new friends on the Farm
