How to silence the air pump

Hi,
I wanted to try the spider farmer dwc.
The pump sound is annoying.
Any ideas how to make it quieter?

Knowing a little about sound insulation i can give you some basics.
Heavy materials dampens sound vibrations going through.
If it's not running all the time or don't get hot a simple solution could be a box made of double layer of gypsum board.
And placing the pump on a foam mat inside that box.
But you probably need to vent it.
Hope there are some better ideas because that sound can be annoying.

From my experience you're going to love that setup. I've got the 2-bucket version with a slightly smaller air pump. I know what you mean about the noise! I thought about putting it in a box to isolate the noise, but I'd be worried about it over heating or not getting enough fresh air in. I've got mine sitting on a small foot stool inside the tent, and while it's noticeable, it's not an irritant for me, really. Then again, being an ex-musician I'm half deaf anyway...lol.

Here's a shot of my girl 4 weeks into flowering in the 7g. DWC setup like yours. I ended up wrapping the lid and bucket with Reflectix insulation to keep the reservoir cool. I'm usually in the 65-68F range over the course of the day. Prior to that, it was reaching into the low to mid 70's, so it's something you need to keep an eye on.

Sometimes a pump just hits the right frequency to be annoying and you can't fix it and sometimes it's the surface or something else adjacent getting vibrated by the pump amplifying the sound. I quieted a USB fan and an air pump down by placing them on top of a towel that works as a shock absorber.

Just out of curiosity, can you put the pump elsewhere (closet, outside a window protected from rain, etc...) and run a large hose to the manifold inside the tent?

some airpumps are just shitty i have 3 at home 2 are annoying as fuck one is like a kitten beautiful.
you can hang the pump in the air soo it doesn't vibrate on anything even floor will make it sound stronger.if you cant hang then something soft under it. you can make a sound box for it but the air pump needs air to work and to not overheat soo little bit hard but possible

Thanks for the help.
Setting the pump on something soft, piece of 2" mattress in this case, did the trick.
I can still hear it but the high frequency whistle is gone.
