Hello. Shug here and this is my first time visiting. I have a colorado Med badge so I can work in any cannabis facility. I have applied to 10s of dozens of places all over and even had interviews but Noone is "selecting". I feel like the last kid to get picked on a dodge ball match. I am a regular cannabis user and I know basics. But these jobs only require a Med badge which makes me qualified. Is it my age (45)? Is it my bubbly friendly personality? Why am I not getting hired? 😕 bummed in Colorado.

I can only imagine how many people are trying to get into the industry. Nation wide

Seems like its a revolving door with many places. I have noticed many companies I apply with are reposting the same job offers. So I reapply. I send a cover letter as well and I do the research of the company to send a follow up email. These jobs don't pay much in my opinion. I understand there are a lot of people who may be applying and getting hired but they can't have any more experience than me. The positions I apply for are entry level and not needing experience.
How can I stand out more than my competitors?
I am applying for packaging and trimming. But I can apply for budtender. I can't stand for long periods of time without being in excruciating pain. How do I explain to the interviewer I need accommodations?

Well it's a profession. A shiny new certificate is step one. Now you're resume building which is the shitty grind. Might have to "trade time" or apprentice, you could definitely use a library of your grow photos. You should have grown enough to have this library. Do you have ANY general botany or bio degree?

I've never grown just bought from dispensary. As entry level positions I thought I could slide in. I have been wanting to gain more knowledge on the cultivation process.
Positions I apply for is trimming and packaging. Figuring they train you.
I'm thinking I can start as a bud tender. And get to know people inside the industry.
Open to suggestions.

Seems like its a revolving door with many places (in the entire economy). I have noticed many companies I apply with are reposting the same job offers (because they keep firing stoned idiots). So I reapply (among 60,000 applicants). I send a cover letter as well and I do the research of the company to send a follow up email (I really excell at covering only the basics to grime a paycheck). These jobs don't pay much in my opinion (this thing which I am not currently acceptable for isn't any good anyway because that's my defense mechanism). I understand there are a lot of people who may be applying and getting hired but they can't have any more experience than me (you don't and they do). The positions I apply for are entry level and not needing experience (this is exactly your problem).
How can I stand out more than my competitors (without actually doing that)?
I am applying for packaging and trimming. But I can apply for budtender. I can't stand for long periods of time without being in excruciating pain (which is one of the most core skills either one needs). How do I explain to the interviewer I need accommodations (or more likely maturity)?
I fixed it for you.
These days, entry level success requires you to be hired already the finished package for the next higher job, and with unlimited enthusiasm. The kid next to you doing it will sleep on a scumbag matress in an old building and eat ramen to get to the top.
I'm not yelling at you I'm framing the reality.

Start right here, do a grow journal, plant a seed. Grow your resume.
Want help with that? This is a grow forum.

I have been wanting to gain more knowledge on the cultivation process.
Would you like to start in:
Soil? Can be forgiving. Must set up the whole thing first, lots of day 1 work. Never worry about ph. 300 ways to skin a cat.
Hydro? Pretty fast. Lots of control. Fun with TUEBZ. Crashes like a race car too but you can flush fast.
DWC? See above and add ADD.
Coco-neutral grow? Essentially earthy hydro. Baby your microbes and water chemistry. Feed with a micrometer.

And that's not fair to any of them. But pick one. It's time to grow something and it's a plant not a nuclear reactor.
