Some of the new seeds started to germ.
One had other plans πŸ˜…
I call that air germination, the taproot is literally in the air and didn't hit the Coco.View attachment 2631820
What’s up Red! Lost this thread dude. Had 1 of those this winter. 50/50 chance you can flip her, or I could, you’ve probably got her stretching already πŸ‘Š

Sup JJ 😎✌️
Thanks for stepping by!
No mayor changes in my cabin, make pics and a vid tomorrow.
Just opened the smaller one to start seeds for the next run and a guerilla grow.

Just found two "good" spots, made em ready and give it a try, one is on a hill(like in a small wood area) near the highway, and the other one is in a blackberry field, which was a little painful to tidy up πŸ˜‚ also near the highway for co2 supply.
The seeds which are currently germinating, I will take clones of them for outdoor.
Didn't watched inside lately.. because yesterday I forgot to ramp the lights back to 90% instead of 11% after watering...hopefully most of em germinated.
The air rooted seed will be a challenge, hope it found it's way back to soil and grew in it so the head could get outta the soil...
Would be a pleasure to don't put my hands on, that's what I am hoping.

Both are around 1m to 1,5m/ 3.3ft to 5 ft
Hell of a work, hopefully it works out.

This one is four days ago, let's see how they turned out tomorrow. The both germinated was from the failed rockwool.

Every time I open the tent, it smells like a candy shop!
Three Strains, all okie crosses, Tokyo snow is the light green, the others are purple ice water and frostette.
Enjoy the show πŸ˜œπŸ€™

From all strains germinated at least one, except the lemon skunk...what a bummer, three seeds without success, some didn't show up and some may got too dry.
The one who air rooted, found it's way into the ground but had to help anyway, maybe too late.
Watered all and will take a look in a few days again.

Update on the small one, they got a bit cooked around 400 ppfd and over 28,5Β°C/ 83,3Β°f after a hot and sunny day almost before midnight...guess a little hotter than 30Β°C/86Β°f on top of the dome, plants got cooked, one died but was one repot from rockwool.
Set the heat mat lower and made a quick shot outta the big one, the smell goes to the front door.

Looking really good in here.

I love my seedling mat. Ive found they love a nice warm medium but not so much humidity.

Do ya have many dampen off using that dome?

πŸ₯°

Not really often, every couple 2-3days, sprayed at those days which is also the feed.
The dome isn't closed completely, because the markers are a little too long, will pull em a little more up, so the humidity should be less.
Sprayed a little fulvic, Epsom and MC in hope the rocket πŸš€ is taking off soon, tried the leafs off before putting them back.

Another one bites the dust.
So I took off the dome completely and gave them some aeration.

Day 52 from flip, ~ day 42 of flower, aiming for ~ 70 days flower time so ~28days left.
The girls are doing perfect! Just threw my mobile device in there to check how sticky and smelly they are πŸ˜‚ received it back, covered in candy 🀩

Guess the others will follow soon.
Reduced the intensity also the Rh% removed the dome and gave em ventilation. But they're getting worse day by day, not a big loss when they die, just a bunch of bulk seeds. The lack of time bringing clones of those outside is even worse. Not the best timing for this year.
IMG 20260504 175431

Guess gotta start new from seed, with less intensity also going back to 18/6 with that move. May do some autos again but not sure yet, let's see if any1 can survive...

Yeah you might want to rethink how you germinate, because that's sad to loose that many.
I would love to help but i just taproot them and put them carefully in 10 cm plastic pot with soaked soil. And i just about cover them. 2 to max 5 mm soil cover.
Works 100% of the time for me if the seeds is not to old or empty. That has happened twice. But if the tap comes out then 100%.

I'd say one thing. Those peat pots you use are not bad, but i find them harder to control moist level than plastic pots.
It's because the peat pot can evaporate all around and i feel it goes from wet to dry real fast. A little the same with smaller clay pots.
Needs more attention imo.

That’s one flower filled tent bud
Looks like a nice harvest you’re going to get

And make sure you know the different watering requirements for Coco and peat! You don’t water coco like Pete soil! And you don’t Water soil like Coco! Coco is considered a soilless medium! Good luck! You’re mature plants are looking beautiful so you must know the difference!πŸ‘

Thank you, that's really what it is! Unfortunately the temps get higher outside..

I tried every technique and tbh I don't care about those couple of seeds which only were 25cents each, got hundred others to choose from.
I started this time again in those cellulose pots(not peat or Coco) in hope to transplant them asap, last time I used them it wasn't that good...because they dried out too fast.
They dry out quickly and also evaporate fast which let my rh% in the dome skyrocketing.

I love to start in water/peroxide to let the seed shell get soft and they germinate better, also drop their shell easier.
After 24h soak, I transplant them directly into the Coco, because I don't want to handle those taproots, also had some issues when transplanted then.

I got pure white peat which I could use in their first stage, also some plastic pots but because I am growing in Coco it doesn't makes much sense but if I get better results i would.
Make an update when gotta start again, plastic pots and peat.

Those are Herma seeds I had more than a month without anything except water and a little peroxide inside the closed glass on the window seat. And they we're still alive and also grew like normal, just small.
I could germinate all seeds like this and transplant those finicky taproots, but I think that's a little too dangerous for them what y think.

Yeah hopefully, will take them 20 days longer this time maybe it pays out. We'll see.
Man y gotta be here more often, just see y every couple of month. What y up with, having a break as well?

I know the purposes for both mediums, started in peat and ~two years in Coco now.
Cheap seeds and starting in Coco or other mediums are still challenging for me.
Hate the germination/ seedling stage.🀬Growing only from clone would be nice but also like to get different phenos, taste, look etc.
Thanks for passing by!πŸ€™

Well well well.
Peroxide again.

I actually just read a study promoting peroxide, but the way they did it actually prove my point, even though they did a lot to make the study useless.

Here is my point.
When a seed is sterilized it also take away it's defense. That can be ok in certain scenarios, but then it's better keep the plant from any fungus spore and other pathogens and keep the plant sterile. And good luck with that. That would make the germ rate rise but also make it hard.
Kinda like giving a newborn baby a shot of antibiotic and then somehow giving the useful microbes back.

I'm just seeing this pattern with low germ rate and peroxide.
Same with transition from rockwool to soil.
Both sounds logic to me.

If it were me i would test some seeds without the peroxide as a side by side, but i won't because it can't beat 100% anyway.
But my seeds cost normal price so there is that too.

Yeah cellulose is what peat and probably coco is full of. And what makes it hydrophobic until it's not. Needs more attention unless you got a system.
We used bricks of peat for garden ponds. If we didn't soak them for at least 24 hours they would float. So when it dries out it take long time to absorb water again.

The seedlings rooted well but gone full dwarf, dumped them and started more resistant strains for outdoor.

The prepared Coco on top activated charcoal

Sorry for the late reply, had been busy and watching too many threads at once..
I haven't read that study y mean yet, but I always use peroxide with better results then without, that's why I took it again.

I get those points but on one part it actually help really much, it softens the shell to get it off easier and imo it increase the germination speed.
Could be true that after or while sprouting it acts more negatively.
In my case the heat mat was too hot, meaning the lower Coco dried out while evaporating too much from the cellulose pots and also the light was way too intense for seedling, that's why they went in the dwarf mode.
Ofc i'd be pissed if the seeds had regular prices but those don't.

Will do a side by side when the time comes again, nothing I hadn't done before and like I already said, I had better results with.
This time I try to transplant them just under the soil, last time it was my bad, also planted em around 2cm deep 😏

Like I mentioned before, starting seeds and the seedling stage is not my favourite part of growing πŸ˜‚
Hopefully this time It will be better, ditched the peat pots go again in clear & red cups. This should help a lot, but we'll see soon.

Thank very much! guess you saved my next batch.
Had some hours of sleep, woke up and thought about your comment again, got a little reading into peroxide and found out i messed up badly.

This time I took even more peroxide which made the problem even worse, after 8h soak in the solution I took em out washed the beans, prepared the Coco(pressed out water) and brought it into the cups.

Two of them already sunk to the floor, means the shell cracked already some hours later and the damage had been done.
Also recognized the heat mat went hotter then expected and the lights are good damn heavy! So went to 50ppfd for the start 18/6 schedule after hearing some landraces start to flower at 20h πŸ˜‚
Should be better now, next time maybe without it πŸ‘Š

Yeah seems like it's good if you get it right.
One problem is if the recespie does not specify if the mix is by weight or volume. Could change the strength from 3% to about 4.5% for example.
And that's a lot imo.

I've also fried some seedlings. That's how i used to kill my seedlings.
But that's the good thing about growing. We learn hopefully.

And what are those landraces again you got going? I forgot. Read too many treads.
