I have grown Middle Eastern strains the past couple years. I'm in a high desert climate at 45 degrees N latitude. Sandy loam, plants outdoors in the ground.
Iraq Babylon - One of the earliest to show sex. Quick to flower and mature. Smooth and a joy to smoke. Moderate THC, guessing in the 10 -15% range nice mellow high. Plants were small with low yield.
Lebanese and "Beirut Quickie" - Plants ranging from short hash plants to 6-7' tall, Beirut Quickie (Lebanese) is faster. Both will bloom and finish early, harvest in Mid September. One of my favorite strains. Moderate THC and high CBD. Dreamy relaxing and clear high. Very smooth and pleasant to smoke. One of my favorite strains likely due to high CBD and strong body high.
Sinai - Short hash plants with sativa phenotype. Like the others, fast to flower, starting to bloom in mid to late July. Early finish in September. Smooth and a pleasant smoke. Moderate THC, clear focused and dreamy high. Low yield from small plants.
Sudanese - Similar to the Middle Eastern strains. Short, low yield. Smooth smoke, pleasant high.
Beldia - Can get to 6-7' tall, generous yield. Vigorous plants that bloom early and finish by mid-late September. Great smoke, reminescent of Morrocan hash I smoked in the 70s.
Purple Gin (cross of Kandahar (Afghani) and Iraq Babylon) Sturdy Indica phenotype, grows to 8' tall, generous yield. Green and purple buds. This is a real winner. Starts blooming in early August. Finish by first week of October. Strong smoke, guessing 20% or higher THC.
All of these thrive in my location. No issues with pests, and disease. Very tolerant to weather extremes, frost and snow.
