Week4Bytch ..The Cannabis Karen

Left side reached the bars,. still tempted to give the right pot a booster seat. Apparently humic acid is similar to top feeding and something you don't want to do at every watering. Oops. We'll hold off for couple weeks. 😏

Can Look at like you are learning the upper limit of those girls! : ) they look great!🤩

my backyard plant is riddle with white fly's and little black ants.. crazy, I can see the black ants going for the nectar in the flower of my cucumber plant (coworker gave it to me to play with) dropped one of them liquid packs on the top soil and the black ants are already congregating there, dam fools. they gonna die. Found some "tanglefoot" that I brushed on the base of the plant and branches that touched the soil surface. It's just some type of glue that ants get stuck on. Need to get the ants out of the way before we hang the Green lace wing eggs up top as ants kill them right away. Don't think the ants are gonna last long and Arbico Organics are mailing the green lace wing eggs out 2nd Day FREE.

The plant is tore up bad, I was gonna throw it out but thought, maybe I can practice something here for future outdoor grows. Want to see if the Marigolds can sustain the Lace Wings or if the Lacewings can even survive in this heat.

The ants are farming the aphids. The white specs are aphid exoskeletons on the leaves. The aphids provide honeydew for the ants and the ants run security for the aphids. You got to tackle the aphids. Not sure if the ant killer is safe to be using.

I'll have to check for sure on the ant killer I have at the bottom. Probably fucked up royally here. Just saw that your not supposed to apply Tanglefoot directly to the plant because it's oil based and will rot the plant. 😐 Well shit. Might just toss that plant after all. 😒

So here's the skinny on the ant killer stuff.. (I need to remove it from the top soil) thanks for the heads up

Terro liquid ant bait is generally considered safe for use in organic gardens if used correctly, as its active ingredient, Borax (sodium borate), is a naturally occurring mineral. However, it should be used in bait stations rather than applied directly to soil, and it is not certified for use directly on edible produce. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Best Practices for Organic Gardens:
  • Use Stations: Use Terro Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits or stakes to protect the bait from rain and prevent it from soaking into the soil, minimizing direct contact with roots or food.
  • Keep Away from Edibles: Place bait stations on the perimeter of veggie beds rather than directly on plants or in the soil near roots.
  • Limit Exposure: While Borax is natural, high concentrations can cause boron toxicity in plants (as little as \(2\)-\(5\) ppm).
  • Active Ingredients: Terro uses Borax, which is less toxic to pets and the environment compared to synthetic insecticides, though it remains toxic to aquatic life if used in high quantities.

Make sure you change clothes shower getting next to those things. If they hitch a ride inside to your tents it’s gonna be a bitch to eradicate them.
Copy, thanks. 💯👊

I swear I was a blonde my past life.. sheez. So I'm planning for the other pots that hold the Marigolds. They're under attack too. If the ants are nesting in the pot then the Borax is a major no no. Diatomaceous Earth?

I think de will work on the ants. The aphids are going to be the battle. Neem will kill them but you are growing flowering plants. Neem will kill our precious bees and that’s not good for our environment and gardening. I tried dead bug on my sunflowers. Seemed to reduce the population but they were back next morning.

I'll try the Terro Ant baits outside the pots. and maybe use the Tanglefoot around the rim of the pots (No where near the plants) and start there. What a battle.

I think the key with the Terro is to keep it from leaching in the soil and making sure it stays in the storage containers they come in. The holes are small enough for the ants to come grab the sugar bait and they only take what they can ingest.

The Aphids, hoping the green lace wings do their thing. (It seems to have worked for the indoor tent, not seeing leaf damage since we released them in there) but releasing outdoors?? The really cheap fix is to water spray under the leaves knock them off every day. But that's "every day"

Got super bored and cleaned and reset my Blumat soil moisture meters. Wish I didn't read about that last night. And talked the wife into helping me slide a riser under the shorty pot to get er even with the left pot. Raised the lights up a little, and upped it from 65% to 70%
The 5x5 lighting arrived.. sheez that thing left California to Chicago and then back to California! FedEx is crazy. Glad it made it intact. Couldn't pass up on the sale but won't be using it to the fall. 😕 5x5 is in the garage.
The lighting we had in there did ok but I want to squeeze in some more plants this next round. A 5x5 lighting is most likely needed. Anyways... That's not till fall. I might unpack her to make sure everything is ok this weekend.

That usually happens with usps. FedEx ate up some of that shipping cost there moving that box to the wrong portion of the country. 😂. Guy I know had a guitar touring the country without him. 😂

Gonna play with Larry OG again and see if I can get these stubborn seeds to pop. Since we have time while the AK47 flower. The Larry OG could take up to 14 days to germinate. Have a plan. Starting with a 24 hour soak in chamomile tea. Then dropping in seed pods after that. The pods will be soaked in a peroxide solution for the long haul 15 day in high humidity run. The Hail Mary will be cracking the seeds (with my teeth) to see what's inside if nothing happens. If we just get one to pop that would be a win. Grab cuts and chabing chabang. 😁
