What i love about growing anything, is there is always the soil biology, but the plant biology!?🤯😃

thats really neat!
I’ve been growing tomatoes for decades and this is the first I’ve run across this even though I’ve grown countless heirlooms so there is always something to learn and nobody knows everything.

Learning is so damn fun da mental🤪😎

I picked up an heirloom for this season! All our starts are from a local vendor. Didint feel like doing seeds this year. Still looking forward to a good year though! : )

That's me Bear, I usually start my own, but this year all my growing spots are already filled. LOL

And Gray, good thing you didn't toss those tomato plants right away. Those are gonna be good!

Same here, been growing tomatoes for 40 years and have never seen that. Very cool.

You and my wife are likely soul sisters, she can't cull anything either. So I was gonna grow em out regardless.

I didn't have any Beefsteak so we bought those seeds. Otherwise we have seeds from the previous years.

Haven’t updated so.
The potato leaf tomato plants doing good mixed in with Beefsteaks. Edit not beefsteak the potato leaf were supposed to be beefsteak. The non potato leaf are Cherokee Purple.

More tomatoes trying em in bags. Too many if you ask me buttttttt if it makes her happy then it can’t be that bad. lol 😂

We grew Cherokee Purple 2 years and they are goooooood!
But with 4 plants we just had too many and some that weren't perfect didn't get eaten. And if you were going to say just freeze or can them, did that the first year and still haven't used them all.
2 old people just don't eat enough. LOL

Hey any of you folks here do worms or and worm bins? My kids saw a video on the web and want to make a worm bin for composting! I love that theyre interested in it. So i figure instead of throwing a Mickey Mouse jobby together id actually make something we can use in the gardens and in my shed!

I’ve searched the “DIY” stuff but figured ya’ll might have some first hand experience with some good starter do’s and donts?

And for the garden thread tax, heres the lettuce my wife and kids got planted yesterday!🤩 i was mending and installing fencing around the yard : ) and a spider on one of the post!

Happy spring gardening to you all! ❤️✌️

I won't give any advice but what I can tell you is. It doesn't need to be anything spectacular, worms don't care what the house looks like they only care what the food choices are and they aint very picky.

Cover a piece of ground with decaying compost material and then cover that with a good layer of hay or straw, you will get worms. Keep it moist.

I had to walk down and take a pic of one of mine. It’s living in the trash can. Looks like something got one of its feet.

Got tomato plants in the ground yesterday, finally. Already have to replace two. I mixed in some fish meal along with some kelp and bone meal and a racoon dug up two plants looking for the fish. At least he figured it out after just two plants and didn't dig up all 14. A few pics from around the yard. My Comfrey is getting big enough i can harvest enough leaves for some fpj this week.

I love the vetch! So do my rabbits. Do you dry it in paper bags and use it as an air freshener?
