Thank you so much! The air-layering takes awhile and I get impatient, but it has worked for me with the rooting sponge. I also tried the Jiffy pellet that Bilber uses and it worked for a couple, especially the Okie cross. Just wanting to try all the various ways to find what works best for me.

Absolutely. Different processes work differently for all of us. I've even found that certain ways of cloning work better at different times of the year for me. Sticking cuts in baskets/Kratky works about the best in winter while sticking cuts in baskets in a tray works better in summer. Some people just stick cuts in water and thay works.

I think the key, unless you have a 90-100% success rate, to cloning is to always take more cuts than needed. I shoot for 6-8 and then keep the best 2 or 3.

Heat pads are another idea worth trying to help cuts develop roots. I built a box out of PVC pipe that fit on top of a 17 gallon plastic box that I covered with plastic sheet and to the box added water, an aquarium pump and heater and used it for cuts and popping seeds and worked great. The heat and humidity were perfect.

The real danger with cloning is taking a dozen cuts and all of them root

Getting close now. But that trunk, yo... This poor plant. It's a miracle it ever got this far because it had been subjected to the equivalent of Auschwitz level experimentation. Last Summer I nearly fried her with a hot dose of dry amend I tried that came with bad instructions on dosage (a cup per 5 gallons my ass!) and I spent a whole year nursing her back to health, getting her stable enough to take some viable cuts and keep the pheno going, and let her flower and die. Terp profile is pepper and floral when you come in for a whiff. Further away it gives off a general skunk funk that fills the yard, and if you disturb a cola you'll get an offensive noseful of it. About to be entering the chop window.
