The Viking's Tent of Buds and Beer

Northern lights hardening off outside, they took their first night in the cold very well. The difference between pruned and unpruned is minimal but it's there.

Going great with the NLs in living soil, looking very healthy, over 1ft and now showing pistils. FB in coco is the biggest still and really taking well to the autopot. Bananas also starting to show their weight. This will be a good harvest. I now genuinly think autoflowers are the best option for my climate when outdoors from spring through summer. Hope the soil holds out for 3 months, it's been amended for ~4months

Banana Punch, the big one was pruned (: definitely shows increased growth. I find the difference to be more pronounced when pruned very early (was at 2nd node) where the NL was at node 3 or 4.

Over a month of curing in grove bags and these buds are crisp. They feel thick, got some bounce and very much passed the snap test. Every little snap gives a nice solid cracking sound with a thick minty apple smell, where the mint appeared well into curing. Best cure i've had yet. Was smoking it around a retailer with questions coming in if it was the expensive weed they were selling (: I'm glad.

(Far from the biggest buds in the bag but i didnt want to dig)

I'm going to be growing Apple Strudel more often. Really really good shit. Going to call it Granny Mints (like the Granny Smiths apples). If anyone got a culti that's simillar, like Apple Fritter n stuff, I'd love to hear it.

Well thats an awesome compliment when a retailer is asking about it!!! 💚
Looks fire bro 🔥
Absolutely! And thank you vm 😁 got a quick rundown there on what was considered quality bud and hash as well. The shape, smell and feel of locally grown buds vs imported cali buds, grove bags vs paper bags vs bins, ways of trimming etc. How and why to cure hash. Never knew you can cure hash to lock in terps and improve texture.
Learned a lot, left with pride in my grow ready to bang out a few new buds. I've seen the corners cut by retailers now and will forever try to stay above their minimum req. Just to keep that pride in my own grows.

Got some weed from there as well just to try and compare but good fkn god this shit is straight up Blue Viking cheese laced with crack or something. It tastes like it should be on a cracker in France during a Deep House festival at 02.00am. Almost expect a bottle of red to come with it. Very pungent but I'll stay with the sweeter flavours and normal highs. Dont like feeling that crackhead energy after smoking xd that cheese stank took over my grinder as well.

The Purple Haze buds came out a lot less loud, but that was expected with the grow not going too well. Smells fully like lavender. Passed the snap test, buds are very full with some give and 0 crisp to the touch. Very calm high, perfect for doing stuff during the day without getting paranoid. Might try again to see if I can really get those flavours to pop.

Day 45 update. Frostbanger on the left is taking the same route the Apple did, so I'm getting ready to supercrop if necessary. Well into early stretch. Gave her less nutes than the Apple but she might still get too big. The Apple was an XL auto where the Frost is an L.
She also hates training. Broke near every main stem fan leaf.

Bananas on the right are at day 38. Both building node 7 and just starting to show pistils as well. Regardless of the height difference, they are at the same node. Think they're like an M or even S or something.

Crowns coming up. Bananas starting to pack some weight as well now.
Bananas and the 2 Northerns outside both take well to training, but can still confirm that the Frostbanger hates it. She has close to no fans on the main stem left now. I think she'll fit the tent without any crop but we'll see.

I'm still a bit unclear on when exactly to start with pk and how to properly dose it for an automated system without having to empty the entire thing to get rid of residual booster. I'll bump down base nutes a bit and give 1/2 of the rec pk. Will last her 3-4 days and then back to normal.
Since this grow for the autopot I've been keeping seaweed in the mix at minimum, doubled Calmag the entire way and kept base nutes at 3/4 of the max from seedling up to flower and went to full max feed since the crowns showed. Using phosphoric acid to lower Ph again this time and 0 problems with the res. No fluctuations or blooms.
She smells like vomity oranges, much like Berry Moonrocks.

The bananas got raised to match the frostbangers' height. Been doing fine but no defining smell yet. The soil has been acting like a sponge so pretty hard to tell when to water sometimes cause it looks wet and feels heavy when actually it's already too dry.

Been a while for the Northern Lights. They're mostly outside and taken inside for the occasional rain or when weather dipped too far. It's been between 50F and 59F. They're alive and well where most would have shriveled and died.

PK boost mostly applied to the start of week 5 flower to end of week 6 flower(when got an average flower time of 8-9 weeks)
On longer growing varietys you enlong the time using PK booster by a week or more.
Last two weeks no PK booster.

Would you say there's a specific visual indicator? Like crowns have set and stretch is stopping, or the moment flowers start to fill out the stem vertically before they bulk. Any time i tried using it, even at 1/4 dose, they burned.

I'm applying it around around a week after stretch stopped and I see the buds are filling the up the strems vertically just before bulk should start, so the plants can increase the PK content inside and safe it up for the bulk.
You can call the PK booster, bulk booster that's actually what it is.
Never had a burn with my p/k 50/30 booster and I throw a couple of grams on em per feed.

Show us your plants how they look right now, so I can make a better guess if it's time for it.

They're autos btw. Already added a bit of PK to the last refill a week ago. Going back to normal nutes today.View attachment 2642376
This one is in soil

Okay, so fyi autos are very sensitive to every kind of nutes, in their cases less is always more, not much of them are hungry like photos!

In the first pic the plant is in Coco & other one in soil(peat?)

Coco is hydroponic and can sit in water while getting oxygen.
Soil as peat needs a strict dryback(to get oxygen to their roots) if it's not in living soil(no dryback, because the Mycorrhiza & bacteria would die off)

Most people don't use any boosters so I would start applying it if you got your feeds are dialed in. Try it on photos in one or two runs

Yes, the first one is in coco/perlite with an autopot. Been trying the Autopotamus approach a few times with max nutes and I've almost narrowed it down with the nutes I use. At 2.0-2.2ec she's good but at full 2.6ec she showed burn. She's going back to ~2ec now. Next coco run will be Apple Strudel again to see if I can get it spot on this time.

2nd one is living soil. Wasn't planning on fertigating, just plain water to the end.

Day 13 for 2 Strawberry Banana autos and a Gelato auto mutant. Got some AirPots for these to see how well they work.

I grew a strawnana once, received one as freebie from fast buds in one of my first grows!
This was incredible, the temps were full strawberry and stemrub full banana 😂 it blew my mind, if it is the same strain¿

Super sweet mutant with three cotyledons & three true leafs 🤩
Wish I get a pheno/mutant like that one time...never have anything special 😪

It's the same (: from fastbuds. If it's as sweet as some banana hashes I've had this will be fire. The gelato is a knockoff cross the seedbank i buy at does themselves and they have some ok quality but generally i get autos from fastbuds.
Ah and I've had mutants anytime I went nuts with nutes.
She keeps throwing the threes so we'll see how long that'll last.

kinda lost on the exact reason. It looks like standard burn but could also be lights or something else.
1000033469

She's been at ~5.8Ph, 2.2ec since seedling, 2.6ec midflower and now down to 2.0ec. Used ~0.2ec of pk for a week. Going to top of in small amounts of Phed tap till harvest, considering the issue might me nuteburn.
Leaves are a bit darker than usual but not deep dark/blueish. Been using double calmg so i'm placing bets on the mg being the reason.

The lights are LED at 140w strenght hanging about 1.2ft above em. I wanted to push it to 210w for midflower but holding back now.
