Nope, your assumption is wrong. But i know that assumption is based on and is a sign of your background and imagination, and not based on ESP or psychic ability of knowing my thoughts.

I was just clarifying for those that don't understand or are confused. Better to make it clear for all than to let some confused comments confuse more readers. The better the info and sensibility of the comments, the more help we can be.

Hi
First time grower, I have 4 photo period plants, 4 different sizes, 3 different strains all started at the same time.
I have just discovered that One, maybe two of my plants have seeds.
What can be done?

Its been 9½ weeks since 12/12 flip, but a helpful member suggested its more like day 38.
I believe this is because I had a bug zapper in the room at lights out and maybe a bit of light coming through the very top of my curtains, but I cant be sure if these delayed anything.

Grown in coco, 5 gallon pots. Feeding just canna coco a + b twice daily.
Ec in 1.2 (cut out cal mag and lowered overall ec due to leaves clawing, burnt tips and high runoff ec - 2.8, from 1.7 in) for about 6 days.
I water so that I get between 600 - 1200ml runoff, trying to lower the ec, which is currently down to 1.9 - 2.2.
Light about 800ppfd or 35DLI (roughly as im having phone issues atm), but the light is nearly touching one plant and the main seed plant is about 6 - 12 inches away. Its at max height.

We've had hot weather and even with A/C temps have got up to 29 - 30c lights on, 27.7c lights off in the past week, for a day or two.
Up until then, temps and humidity have been stable and vpd is around 1.2 - 1.5 at this stage in flower.

What should I do about the main seed plant and maybe one more, which is the second to last picture.
That spot on the bud looks different to the other ones and was pushed up against the tent door so its been getting bashed accidentally for a while.
Remember bro, the plant is a mysteriously awesome creation of the Almighty! I have found some strains that have had unfertilized seeds tucked away in the bud. I've planted every single one none germinated. It may be a weird recessed gene. Do your seeds have any color to them? Did one of your plants herm? Lots of questions... Did you try to germinate them?
Very interested in your story.

Was not an assumption. Fact. On the last month you have constantly called people out for being wrong. Your tone deaf. Go start your own fact based website so everyone can leave here and hear only the gospel from such an experienced, perfect grammar human 😘
Wrong. ❌ that was an assumption on your part, by the definition of the word. What you think it means... 😏 who knows. Sorry, but you wanting to be argumentative doesn't change the definition of assumption. But there is no need for more off topic BS of you trying to make this thread about your personal opinions of me. Respect the original posters thread, and stop trying to derail it make it about what you think, or your imagined psychic ability about other users.

The thread is about problem that is a growing problem and we are seeing more often. Hermaphroditism. Yeah, it sucks but we need to do what we can to protect our weed from this problem. From what limited knowledge we have on the plant its generally said that hermaphroditism is a result of genetics and enviornment. It is not always the case, but mostly I am seeing the hermaphroditic plants coming from seeds from pollen chuckers. And for those that are new, inexperienced, you need to think about the seeds as the very foundation the rest of your grow is built around, including the results. So here is a simple warning:
Stay away from pollen chuckers!
Most of the cheap or free seeds you see floating around on various forums come from pollen chuckers. These are people who take already unstable commercial polyhybrids and make random/meaningless crosses without any real selection or testing.

The result is almost always even worse overhybridization. They usually do not know what to look for in the plants. They do not test properly for important traits like hermaphroditism, pathogen resistance, or overall vigor. They often only grow a few plants and end up breeding forward mediocre or runt phenotypes because they have not seen enough of the full expression to pick out the truly exceptional ones.
And here is the real bad part that can and has happened. Even worse are the unscrupulous people who sell or give away surprise seeds from accidental pollination or hermaphroditic plants. These seeds frequently carry hermie genetics and can ruin an entire grow with seeded buds and wasted time.

The good quality seeds are completely different. They are maintained for consistency and quality over many generations. That is why serious growers prefer them over random pollen-chucked material.
If someone is offering you seeds from unknown crosses or “found” seeds, be very cautious. The low price is rarely worth the risk. I'm not saying you can't get acceptable or good results with pollen chuckers seeds, that is also possible. Absolutely. But it is a gamble. You are going to be putting time and resources into your grow, and naturally you want to be proud of that and satisfied with the end result. If you are willing to make that gamble, great. If you don't want to risk your grow, avoid pollen chuckers. Go with the best quality genetics you can find/afford and your chances of a beautiful outcome will be greatly increased. Make a good effort to research who has that good quality gear and a reputation for quality. It's up to the grower to choose their path. Whatever that path is, enjoy it.
👍🏻

I don't do that, so I'm curious... What credible supporting evidence have you found for it being beneficial or not beneficial to do that? What in your understanding of the plant biology / photoperiodism / chemistry leads you to consider doing that? Or are you just blindly following (possibly superstitions or myth) suggestions/instructions? What's your reasoning, or your take on it?

I dont think that total darkness before harvest will make your buds any better. Plants need light, air and food to produce the best buds. Old way of thinking was total darkness would create stress and therefore enhance trichomes and/or terpene production........but photosynthesis is needed for that to happen!!
Debunked 👊🏼

don’t be too hard on yourself. The seeds are most likely from light stress

Where’d the 4 beans come from? A lot of folks try to rationalize or find a reason for the herm when there really isn’t one…I’m not sold on the light leak theory…genes.
Two are humbolt, 2 are royal queen seeds

Logical. Genes for the tendency passed on by bad breeding practices because the plants weren't properly selected. Commercial seed cheapest seed to produce, rush to market, race to the bottom like so much else.

It needs its own topic. That we can point to for the beginners and the ones who aren't familiar with the concepts of good plant breeding that leads to a quality that respects the grower.
