Hello all. My seedlings are almost 5 weeks old. I upgraded to Kingled 4000 yesterday. The front 2 looked great yesterday now they are drooping. My light height is 26”, I water when the top 1/4 is dry. The back 2 seem small to me. Just good soil, perlite.my setting is on veg.

Depending on strains and whatnot - Each plant may have its own preference for light intensity. 26" could be too close for some - for a new light, id start at max tent height and ease down a few inches per day.

I find it a lot easier raising seedlings under T5 and T12 65K Leaves can touch the bulbs, and not burn them.

My female plants go outdoors, but I've got a male making pollen under them indoors right now.

Not a big fan of tin foil....but thats up to you. You are drowning the young roots. No more water for about 5 days I would guess. Your roots also need oxygen to thrive. Let that soil dry back. I did not see one nor was there mention of a fan!? You will need a small oscillating fan to move the air around and strengthen up those seedlings. 👊🏼

Thank you, I took the foil down already and raised the light. Yes I have an occilating fan out of view.

Hi @Bogota.Mark, I followed you to your thread, hope you don't mind. Are you planning on putting your plants outdoors in the ground or fabric pots? Pots are the easiest and if your weather goes south you can then move them into an interior room, not a tent. The problem with bringing them inside is the possibility of also bringing pests and disease inside where's it's much harder to treat.
Generally, where are you located if you wish to share.

Thank you so much for the reply. I am really struggling here ha ha ha. I have two ideas that I would like to pursue one as I want to have an indoor growing area and then also one outdoor. I have 25 gallon pots indoors right now I’m waiting for four other Seeds to pop through the soil after I planted them. My problem here is I live outside the city and I have regular black dirt purchase at a nursery, but the nursery person says it’s too heavy for Marijuana. So I’m thinking of thinning it down with some cocoa and per light and hopefully that helps Sorry to bend your ear, but I’m at the point where I’m about ready to start paying somebody to help me ha ha ha.

I can help with the outdoor, but I'm still a newb at indoor too. LOL Can I ask why you have 25 gallon pots for indoor?
BTW, for some reason the plants like light, fluffy, potting soil in pots, but are fine living in dirt. I know, doesn't make sense, but that's what I've experienced. What is your season, weather like now and forcasted for the next couple of months?

I have 2 five gallon pots not 25. The soil is black and local from nursery. Seems heavy. My seedlings were germinated with 1/4 tap roots. Placed in jiffy pods, then the pods were placed in the soil inside a small peat pot. At approximately 4”, I transferred them to the 5 gallon fiber pots. No perlite, coco etc. just the nursery dirt. I think I overwatered them. Only 1 left. I just read an article that gave this ratio of medium. 50% coco, 25% perlite, 20% worm casings. FYI

The season here is somewhat rainy, hot sun during the day. Summer begins in September, less humid.

Oh, 5 gallon pots are much more manageable. The seedlings do best in light seed starting mixes of coco and not much else. I've tried different mixes of potting soils and they will succumb to damp off, or a fungal disease that is present in the soil, which is also why not to use your nursery soil. The fungal spores are everywhere, so keeping the seed starting mix light and fluffy stops the spores before they start. Seedlings don't need fertz or fancy amendments at that stage.
I see the pic of your plants from Saturday, do they still look like that?

Unfortunately, no two of them are shriveled up to nothing and the one that looks the best in the photo looks about half as good as it did on Saturday that is before I put them in the 5 gallon pot.

It may too late for them. I have toasted a few of mine this Spring before reallizing I had added too much bone meal and fertz to the potting soil for the young plant. It's a balancing act.

So should I go “no dark soil” and use the coco, perlite, worm casing mixture ? I’m 95% sure my soil is to thick and holding too much water.

If I was in the states I would go with Fox Farms ingredients. But I’m limited here. Plus we’re not in the city .
