I have a bunch of sugar leaves and am bored. I'm gonna pack them loosely into a log, cover with candle wax and place a wick.

Essential oils.

What do you think? Carcinogenic? Will it flame out? I'll let you know lol

Why not slow boil the wax with the sugar leaves, strain it, then make the candle?

Trip report: it sucks. Not a great idea, but an idea nonetheless.

I’d keep the leaves packed tight and fully sealed in wax so they don’t smolder. If any plant matter burns, it can make harsh smoke, so I’d test it outside first.

I’d keep the wax as the only real fuel and treat the sugar leaves like decorative filler, since plant matter can burn unevenly and make the smoke a bit harsh. I tested scent add‑ins by burning https://nothingbutscents.com/products/apple-crisp-incense while I worked, just to see how strong aromatics behave near heat, and it helped me keep things mild so the candle didn’t get smoky.
