I know when I see skunk out by the tree line I run too, only not towards them. I had one in a leg hold trap in winter. That skunk sprayed a nasty “syrup” when I approached. Thick. I wasn’t close enough thankfully!😅 Snow was nasty nasty!
And this is why I don't fool with any of them. The smell and the diseases.
Bats: 33% to 35% of all reported rabid animals. Indigenous rabid bats are found in every continental U.S. state and represent the most common source of human rabies infection in North America.
Raccoons: ~29% of cases. Raccoon rabies is highly concentrated along the Eastern Seaboard and is a primary terrestrial reservoir.
Skunks: ~18% to 19% of cases. These are the dominant terrestrial reservoir in the central and north-central United States.
Foxes: ~7% to 8% of cases. Mostly prevalent in the southern, southwestern, and eastern states.

Distemper.
Striped Skunks, Mink, Weasels, and Otters: Experience high mortality rates.2. Common Reservoirs & Spillover (Canidae & Procyonidae)Because they carry the virus and frequently interact with domestic animals, these species play a major role in the spread and maintenance of distemper in the US:Raccoons: Particularly in the Southeastern and Eastern US, raccoons are the most commonly documented wildlife host and act as a primary reservoir.Coyotes, Red Foxes, and Gray Foxes: Common carriers. Localized outbreaks often coincide with increases in coyote populations, which subsequently threaten local stray and unvaccinated domestic dog populations.

…and don’t forget the sun screen!

Went out this morning and thoroughly watered everything. Temps are gonna be terrible for us humans but according to Oldchucky as long as we keep the roots wet and cool, plants will be fine. 🙂
That is climate specific! If it’s 100° and 20% humidity then the plants will transpire like crazy and the pots will dry back fast! If it is 100° and 80% humidity then the transpiration slows way down and the evaporation slows way down, so don’t overwater them! The roots still need to breathe! The relative humidity is the important part! You need to adjust your soil density to make it compatible! Or at least make it easier on the plants and you!

As a surfer, I still consider myself one, I’m now paying for extreme sun exposure. It ain’t no fun. When getting Mohs surgery, fourth time ain’t a charm!
Yeah, that is nasty! I’ve delivered to people that didn’t have enough ear left to hang an oxygen cannula off of! Missing part of their beaks! Etc.!

My jeep said it was 65 but it felt like 40 and cold af wind blowing and mf mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds
And those mosquitoes love sweet blood of tourists. The black flies too!
I have camped under the Mackinac Bridge, the week of Fourth of July some years ago, and it was in the 40s all week. A week after we got home it was in the 90’s at the same park. 🤦‍♂️

My niece had her wedding outside in the summer, Traverse City. Biting gnats had all of us rushing for the house as soon as it was over. LOL

Well, it hit us. Hubby opened his laptop and got a flashing microsoft warning that his computer was hacked. Ahhhh. I was outside and he called the number and gave lots of 'good info' to the 'non-native' speaker on the phone. At least he hung up after she said he needed to withdraw 9000 dollars and convert it to bitcoin.

Then they called me. Heee, heee. I played him and he hung up on me. LOL
