1. You can get a green card and wait the required period.

2. You can be sponsored (by a family) but it takes years..

3. If you get a job from a company and you are an asset to them they can sponsor you (faster than above, and your already in on work visa..)

4. If you are highly educated (you have all those degrees right?), you can apply to be accepted because you will be a highly contributing member of society.

5. Another is the lottery, but since mexico has abused/abuses the system, they have been left out.

6. There are also political refugee statuses and other things that the government can offer to people .

They do that because unlike you they know the US does not have the space or resources to just keep the floodgates open. The productivity gained is not enough to validate keep allowing mexican immigrants to cross the border. The people they let come into the country have to be able to increase overall productivity if they come here.
