have you all read the whole site? did he just call the government and ask if it was ok? maybe he is why there is no legal cali BHO. license in TX? sends list to govt? i do like the idea tho. i do not understand how he can price it like that? he must have a hell of a metal shop. i think the price is good for a underground product like this, but i have spent more on butane than most people have gasoline. worth it for production only but only if i could buy it from someone else...

These units are only available to lease? WTF?

And what kind of fucking idiot sells this for $1000 and then asks you to pay and extra $12 for shipping insurance?

No, the large commercial units are available for lease if you can't afford the hefty price tag.

I own the 2oz table top package #4. I paid just over $1000, and would gladly have paid triple for the product I received.
I am one of the fucking idiots who paid for insurance because that is how much the post office charges for the optional insurance. Only a fool would buy an expensive piece of equipment and not pony up the ten bucks to make sure you aren't stuck with the bill when they smash it at the post office by accident. I use 99.9 pure N butane, and have now performed three extractions using the same batch of solvent. I have also performed multiple solvent extractions and recovered all independently.

This is an amazing piece of equipment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to make any sort of plant extraction. The tamisium iste shit.

I gotta say that looks like an extremely safe and efficient way to make oil. I have a feeling the price tag could be re-couped

I totally agree Farmer John. Its very suspicious to have only trial users giving feedback on it and leaving. It would have been better to have no feedback then anonymous ratings, as atleast one could wonder,.. now I have to see it work or know it works by some of the farmers here before investing. Not sure if they meant to but leaving fake user reports makes it look like a scam. I hope this isn't the case,...

A fool and his money are soon parted.

What do you mean by "trial users". I own one, and I'm a professional user. I use it for my professional growing business. I am no way affiliated with the company. This is the most awesome, well designed, well made, safest, most versatile extractor on the market. It is underpriced. It paid for itself in the gas recovery alone in short order. I use high grade butane, not lighter refills. But if you use lighter refills, you can use the unit to purify the butane and separate it from the other propellants and impurities from the cheap gas.

I'm a caregiver in Montana. It is all I do, everyday. The Tamisium is a great investment for those who appreciate quality, versatility, recycling (no wasted gas!), and SAFETY!

I have yet to see anything that comes close to what these guys have produced.

MT I just purchased 1 of these bad boys and would love some advice. I got lots of questions and their website and forums make it very clear they won't answer questions about MMJ extractions. That is if you don't mind giving up your recipe

Fire away. The extraction process is pretty simple, and I share any info I can. One piece of advice is to have a good scale so you can determine recovery efficiency by weight. I haven't begun to use this piece of equipment to it's full potential. These things can really do pretty much everything.

well yea 1st what do you use as your recovery solvent? adn how do you get it out of your oil? do you heat up or cool of the extractor before you run a batch? do you add pressure? thanks for your help

Sorry I haven't had more time to respond and experiment with various methods. My first son, my first child, was born on the sixth. So I've been a little distracted from my toys.

I've used rubbing alcohol, pure grain alcohol, and olive oil as my recovery solvents so far. I found the ever clear to be my favorite if I have to use alcohol. I just put a shot or two of the recovery solvent into the bottom of the tank. Then run the extraction, evaporate off the primary solvent via the safety purge line, or recover the gas if you have the recovery tank. Then you are left with the extraction in the secondary solvent. Simply pour it out into an evaporating dish, and let the alcohol evaporate. A fan and mild warming will speed things along, but I do not get anything hot.

The questions on heating and cooling depend on what you are doing, but yes, the base sits in ice water, and sometimes I'll hit the top chamber with a blow dryer to heat it up and force the gas through the herb chamber. I have not used pressure yet, but I have the connector that allows for the use addition of pressure.

Make sure you read, and re-read all the info that comes with the unit, and check the website for updates. If all else fails, call the guy that makes them. He sounds like a cool cat, but don't mention weed. It is still a federal felony, and he won't do business with you if he knows it will be used for illegal extractions. At least that what he says on his website.

I'm going to do a step by step photo guide of an extraction using mine. It may take a couple days to get together, but I'll get to it.

Also, If you use lighter refill cans, you can use the unit to separate the butane from the other propellants, like propane, and purify your gas by running it through activated carbon. You just crack the cans into the cylinder, place it in ice water, and then open the safety purge valve. The butane will remain liquid at the cold temps, but the propane will boil off.

Easy way to improve the purity of the butane if you don't have access to pure N or Iso butane.

I have not played with the carbon filtration yet, but I have cleaned my butane this way. I have been unable to get ahold of the pure N-butane yet. I'm supposedly going to get that order placed today from some dude in texas. We'll see.

Anyhow, I'll post photos of the process of cleaning the gas from refill cans before you use it for the extraction.

thanks for the pointers I will give them a shot, and concratz on the new baby. one more thing in the videos he says that after you run the butane through it is possible to invert the system and allow the solvent to sit on the buds do you ever use this method? if so how long a soak to you use?

Yes, I have done the inversion, but only once and only for about 15min. I don't have enough experience with the various methods and solvents one can employ with this unit to say what difference was achieved.

I'm currently trying to figure out the optimal amount of herb to pack into the chamber for a given volume of butane to maximize efficiency per run. I can't really get any hard data until I get the scale I ordered. I placed the order last week, so this think should show up this coming week. I grew up in Toledo, so the brand was a no brainer. Looks like a nice scale.

http://balance.balances.com/scales/469

Once I get ahold of the scale, I'll be able to start recording numbers to get some real data. Until then, I'm just enjoying the honey. While still waiting for my pure N butane, I'm just using lighter canisters and then purifying the Butane by distillation via the recovery process, then using it for the actual extraction.

where did u find pure butane? mine showed up last night I wasn't expecting it till next week so I ran out and bought every can of butane in town( a small robinson and a biger bernzamatic) I live in a small town. I filled it, put in ice bath and purged excess gas as you said but used purge line not the tank? (please post pics of how you do this if you have time) I just used some old trim and shake I had hanging around but got some ok oil I need to get a scale capable of weighing it as well before I start playing with it for real but can't wait, after seeing what I got from this first test run

Hey Chef which kit did you buy. Do you guys think the top package is worth it or overkill. I'm about to order one and was hoping you guys had an idea on which kit to buy
Thanks guys and thank you MT for taking the time to let us in on your experience. Thanks Mon
Can't wait to some pics of the oil. What color is it ? Clear or cloudy ?
