Hello All,
I've been lurking for quite some time and getting educated for the last 6 months. Thank you all for your vast knowledge. Now I'm ready to get going on a legal 12 tree uc medical grow with my roommate.

My first question - We will be renting a place the first of the year:

Option 1: Grow in a couple of bedrooms of a home
Option 2: Grow in tents in the garage

Personally I am leaning towards option 2 for the following reasons:
- Easier to cool (more options)
- Easier clean up - leaks...etc...
- Scalable (just ad another tent)
- Not as big of a deal to drill or ad panels for ballasts etc...
- Out of the way and easier to break down and/or conceal

What do you guys think? Am I on the right track? Any other considerations?

I'd rather flood a garage than someone's home. Only downside to tents is vertical height.

tents work fine in rooms too

keeps you from having to put holes everywhere and its easier/cheaper to keep temps stable in the house as opposed to a garage

oh BTW Id like a ps3 for xmas - thanks

12 tree uc

Um. Somehow I don't think that sort of system will fit in any tent that I've heard of - especially one that will fit in a typical apartment bedroom.

And UC's are plumbed together, so "just adding another tent" for scalablity seems a bit shortsighted.

And one bedroom usually has 1x15A 120V circuit - only enough for a single 1000w and supporting hardware - nothing required to run a UC.

So - um - if you don't really want a UC maybe a 4x8 tent with a pair of 600's would work in a bedroom. But I don't really think you can get much larger - by virtue of the electricity required alone - to say nothing of so many other limitations here.

excellent points Sedate...lots more thinking on this plan is required

get the 4x8x7 sunhut i grow approx. 12 trees in it. 12 gallon smart pots, keep the ballast outside and raised, really simple setup to install. Put it in a room for sure, you can use excess heat to control temps in house and you can seal off the room. Take it easy man hope it works out for ya

....in side note to what sedate said, i wouldn't grow uc if i were you, hard to do in a hut, also take a look at the sun system dual 600-400 ballasts, their not in production anymore but they are still on the market and are the best light for this system by far.

what about noise? wouldn't all those fans, pumps, etc. draw attention? i walked by a neighbors garage and heard constant whirring. haha. made me wonder...

yes - Im the panda tent master - or at least I was - growing in a 110 degree attic in a tent with a plenum fan that came out of a skyrise - ahh those were the days

good friend of mine nicknamed it "the jack shack"
