Iranian Short Season... Resource Thread ...

This past summer we grew among other strains 30 Iranian Short Season. We were very much impressed with this plant, so much in fact next year we will be shooting for a 1000 plus Iranian Short Season grow.

Ninety days from seed to harvest is perfect. Harvest the beginning of August before the choppers and rippers are out. We lost a field to rippers this past summer, and we were not happy campers.

I am wanting to learn as much about this strain as possible. The first 10 ISS were vegged inside under 1000w and put outside after 28 days. These ones didn't grow too big as we learned after the fact, as soon as you put the plant outside after being vegged inside they go right into flowering. The 20 outside did very well growing to about three feet tall.

A thousand seeds is a big investment of money and time, so I have started this thread in hopes of everyone who has grown the Iranian Short Season, to chime in and add their knowledge and experience with this plant.

In my research of this plant, I gather there are two schools of thought for how to grow. The first school of thought is to start indoors and grow them to 18 inches and then place them outside for the duration of their growth cycle. The second school of thought is to start them outside as soon after the threat of frost is gone.

I have also read that Iranian Short Season can be vegged for extended periods of time under 24 hours of light. If this is so, can these be kept inside and grown them for a longer period of time and then placed outside for the 6 weeks these require to flower to increase the yield and increase the total growth cycle to say 120 days. In essence starting them inside a month earlier than they would be started outside thus getting an extra 30 days of vegging and still finish the beginning of August as if they were put outside in the beginning of May?

What have people used at all for nutrients with these plants as I understand from my reading they are very nute sensitive.

Instead of dumping all that money pick up a product called reverse from dutch master and grow out a crop inside this winter and hit a couple with the dutch master reverse in veg and you will have enough iss seeds to start your own iss revolution. sorry doc if i screwed you out of 15g

Just grow out your plants from seed and when they reach about 6 inches tall hit it with a foliar of the reverse. This will force the plants to throw pollen and pollinate the remainder of your girls with feminized pollen so you will get all female seeds. I think there are some threads on here about making fem seeds.

After Some Thought ...

After some thought, I am going to purchase all the seeds from Dr. Greenthumb. From all my research on this strain and on Dr. Greenthumb, he knows what he is doing and I want the real thing.

I am so excited for next summer !!!

I am going to take pictures of the whole grow, and once everything is harvested I will create a very thorough, informative and well documented journal, paying respect to Dr. Greenthumb for his creation of this amazing strain.

yea just buy the seeds straight up, u can experiment indoors with the reversal to see what kind of results you get. if the results are positive you just saved urself a boatload of money. If your results are negative, u still have the plants you planted outside that will still flourish and no harm done.

It is not advisable to attempt to reverse s1's
Reversed s1's if they even revrse can/will show hermi/sterility/there is too much risk of having hermi's that ruin everything just when you need it.
Besides, i won't do that to other peoples hard work

I have been reversing s1's with sts for over 10 years and never had the issues you talk about. The offspring are actually imo better than the mothers. I reversed some of DrGreenthumbs Iranian OG and the plants were kinda sluggish growing at 10000 ft altitude, I reversed a batch and the offspring were 10 times hardier than the mothers. They looked and grew like totally different plants and the potency was also improved.
Most seeds sold by a few reputable breeders these days are s2's,3's etc............
Those breeders will feed you a bunch of bullcrap to keep selling you seeds that you can actually pollen chuck yourself.
Just my 2 cents

Hey herb thanks for this info! I hope your still following this thread because it wont let me send you a private message yet. I have never done any breeding but I am very interested in making seeds of this iranian autoflower. Would you mind explaining how this is done to someone with little to no knowledge of the process? What is sts? Would love to learn the art of pollen chucking!

After a google search most of the stuff I found on this strain is mostly said by digging and a few other and on most posts they are accused of spamming and they always diss early wonder skunk and lowryder.digging posts the same pics on the dr green thumb website this is very fishy indeed maybe I will start a thread about this
