Looking good Boomer! Quick question for ya. Why are you at 73 degrees in the room if your running co2? Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't co2 used more at around 80 degrees?

+1 what Celtic said.

Quoting from Marijuana Horticulture Grower's Bible by Jorge Cervantes pg. 337 2nd column 3rd paragraph.

"Carbon dioxide-enriched cannabis demands a higher level of maintenance than normal plants. Carbon dioxide-enriched plants use nutrients, water and space faster than non-enriched plants. A higher temperature, from 75 to 80 will help stimulate more rapid metabolism within the super-enriched plants. When temperatures climb beyond 85 CO2 enrichment becomes ineffective and at 90 growth stops."

Love this book. Hope this you out. They are looking good.

ya 78-80* is where id like it. but we just had a storm and outside weather was cold. it affects my inside temps and im not runnin a heater. the AC only runs a slow fan cycle to dehuey the room. so end result the temps will creep on their own in time. but good point for others following to know.

lol

Got the room temps in check so far.
78* 65% RH

PH @ 5.8-6.0
PPM @ 490

They seem to be drinking a lot more water now and a solid root mass is developing. Big difference with the lower PPMs.
Sprayed with Heavy16 Foliar & Neem Oil this week. Azatrol next week then getting ready to flip.

Added a couple new flavors to the ezcloner today also;

Blackwater Male & Female
Raskal's OG

thanks again homie.

New plans are brewin and mite be adding in a few things next month;

2x 8gal UC 16site systems
8x 600w lamps
5ton AC
Commercial Dehuey

Pic Update in a few days

Week 5

Starting week 5 this weekend.

Stats have been;

PH @ 5.8-6.2
PPM @ 450-550
Water Temp @ 68*
Room Temp @ 79* 50-70% RH
C02 @ 900ppm

Ill be topping off with old nutes for another day. Then add in 120ml more of Heavy 16 veg A&B.
The ladies are eating up sumthing like 50-100ppms a day and a good amount of water. My PH seems to be stabilizing where i want it finally. most this time ive been having to deal with water loss from cracked buckets. So in this emergency case i have to add RO asap and dump in nutes without letting it sit in the mixing rez, settle ph/ppm, then add to the system. End result i had huge PH swings and was never really in the correct uptake zone. other then the past issues im moving forward strong and am stoked on the Heavy16 foliar. I was instructed to spray before stress and once a week, this has def helped the plants shift gears and get growing. literally.
Now that RH and room temps have came into a better range combo, the c02 supp seems to be helping push the ladies as well.
Im seeing growth overnight and tucking the new nodes under the screen almost everyday.

DAMN those trunks are FAT!

Love the even canopy from that screen looks good.

I plan to throw a screen over mine soon too. But the only problem I keep kicking around is how are you going to do a rez change and not be able to lift the plant up and get that 15% of the remaining water in each bucket. Let me know what you plan to do. Other than that things are looking intense.

i leave the water and let it mix in with the flush. i plan to flush with about 100-200ppm anyways so it works perfect leaving the excess water/nutes.
im def workin at keepin this canopy in check.

Spreading the ladies open...

Decided to post a shot of a full tuck under the screen. It will prob be the last one this crop. Ive been messing with diff techniques and this concept was to open up the middle of the plant hopefully creating new shoots and allowing the other branches to reach out further for a larger footprint.
I pull every branch under the 2x1 screen and slowly tuck every tiny new shoot underneath and pull it to the outer perimeter. They should bounce back tomorrow and the tops will be reaching up for light.
I also have been supercropping very consitantly to encourage an even canopy and lateral growth. I only do it on the shoots that are too small to tuck and pull to the outer perimeter. This way no random shoots get out of control by being the main top closet to the light thus stretching really bad and creating an uneven canopy.
Ive been experimenting with twisting also.
I FIM'd a couple tops on accident while tucking but should be interesting to see the result.

Man Nice attention to detail. Looks like you have a gameplan and its workin. Those screens are filling out with the quickness. Smoked the power kush yet? My bro just ran it wondering how that one is. Sensi right?

On a side note. Eagle20 and Floramite are touchy subjects because even if you spray them in veg the chems are still in the plants even after they flower for 60 days. I would say I just dont smoke PM/ sulfur, eagle20 bud, floramite bud period. Azatrol is the tits for every pest besides aphids. Have to use it right to work. You get that plague kill your shit. You are kidding yourself if you think you are getting rid of them.

I used to rock them bombs and still do in my mom room bout every 3 months just for the extra cover. Other then that azatrol every 10 to 14 days. Whats a mite? lol.

lol jk your stuff is looking great
topping is the way to go imo
with all this training you should be set up for some straight bushes
did you end up running the zone?
ive been running benes for a while but am switching myself
i plan on just running it for a day or two before a rez change just to give me a lil peace of mind

The way you screened these beauties reminds me of how I used to top my girls and use string to pull the resulting side branches down and out in order to create a broad flat canopy. This has to be easier than tying little loops on a bunch of branches and then taping the string to the side of the bucket! I remember it was a crazy yield booster tho, def. gonna use this sytem in the future. Same results, less hassle.

I don't have the treasure chest to buy a UC system, so I'm building my own. Anything about the system you think is essential to include in my design? How about features you wish it had but doesn't? Just curious, I figure that if I ask, I might learn something!

im all about gameplans. theres no success without failure tho and ive learned the hard way several times to triple check shit before i commit to it. especially when faded. ive never come across the power kush here in so cal but i dont visit random collectives anymore i only stick with the couple i represent. so doesnt mean it doesnt exist. i wish i couldve tried a sample before doing a run, but this entire run is commited to working out the new location and equip then upgrade and dial strains in. when i was on rollitup i got connected with a grower up north who highly recommended power kush as a commercial strain used in amsterdam to supply the coffeeshops with. fruity kush with great bag appeal and most plants produce 1/4oz a plant. so itll be interesting to see how it performs in the RDWC.

im not using floramite. never tried it. but i did order eagle 20 and at a rate of 3ml/gal is rec so its a small dose. only done in veg. im vegging sumthing like 5-6weeks this round but considering ill flower for at least 60 days im sure it will be out of the system. the owner of cannachemistry is gettin me more info on eagle 20 and will get me accurate lab results once harvested. ill let everyone know what happens. and ill post my certificate.
im liking the azatrol so far. havent seen really any pests. a couple flying gnats maybe but its rare and only one every few days. the yellow sticky pads are a great heads up on flying pests and helps identify what pest it actually is.
im getting ready to do a pyrethum fogger this week before i flip. then azatrol and neem oil until week 3 flower.

wow, very nice set up bl. when u plan on flipping?

i was shooting for this weekend. just depends how much they perform this week. i dont make decision off a calendar anymore, i let my bitches boss me around.

ha thanks brotha. im diggin the new screen and keeps things real low pro and lots of branching. which i really need cuz im taking cuts from each plant end of this week when i lollypop.
i ran DM zone exactly the way u just mentioned once so far. i added Zone a couple days before i flushed then flushed everything out to make sure no zone was left. then added a new nute batch with the roots excel @ 1ml/gal.
my roots are actually really white still. i was expected them to brown out sum like im seeing on other UC journals using roots excel. im thinking that with my water temps at 67*-69* consitantly is helping them stay white.
i still like the concept of running roots over DM zone considering the fact that roots excel has been shown to prevent root rot in water temps up to 75* and hands down roots excel will increase the plants performance.
But i cant argue with running a completely sterile system either. It comes down to every single growers preference and system setup.

i still tie my clones down to a custom made scrog support that sits on my ezcloner. its a pain but for a true LST i like to choke em down to the base almost. the concept is still the same once u put it under a tight screen. but hope ur next round works out for u. keep me posted.

i didnt have the funds for $10k worth of UC systems either so i DIYd one and sure its a good move to do starting off then reinvest by buying the real deal, but if u dont have the right equip, connects, engineering experience, and pay attention to detail, then u might want to just buy the system. CCUC has done a great job building their systems and i can see they worked out most the kinks in their design.
I myself have access to several commercial equip that makes my job slightly more easy; hand cranks, forklift, work trucks, mitersaw, hole press, sheet metal room, and other equip. so u get the point that u can actually spend a shitload more buying the right tools/equip to get the job done versus just buying a turnkey system from CCUC.
i created this journal to share my experience (good & bad) with others and help guide them in a better direction.
i made the mistake of being off literally a couple centimeters when i drilled my holes for the uni seals and now its just a tad too tight. once the 3" ABS is pushed in with sum good ol KY jelly, the bucket either flexes in or out, whichever direction u last placed the 3" pipe. this effect stresses the bucket between the bottom of the hole and the bottom of the actual bucket. so ill end up with a pressure crack about 1" long that slowly leaks water out overnight. this issue can only be fixed by replacing the buckets which requires removing the screen and placing plants safely sumwhere temporarily. then the domino effect happens, i replace the broken bucket, fill with a new nute batch, and a day or two later another bucket in the same row will break cuz the previous additional pressure from replacing the other bucket. so it continues. ive replaced 3 buckets so far. spent all night working. ive tried using marine epoxy to seal the cracks while underwater, dry in place, and completely dry in another room sitting for the correct 24hr cure time before use. it doesnt work with the HDPE material the buckets are contrsucted out of.
so thats my nightmare, hopefully u can avoid ur own.

Thought about a plastic welder on the cracks? Not that swapping out buckets is any small feat, but ???
