Hey all,

I was looking on Lowes.com at cheap window air conditioners. I was wondering if anyone knows what feature to look for that lets the AC auto turn back on if there is a blip in the power. My present window unit doesn't do this.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Stay away from Frigidaire. Just had a friend who had one 3 months old and the digital thermistor (senses temperature) went out. The sensor was 10 days on back order. I installed a regular digital stat, transformer, and contacter to control window unit and it works freaking awesome. Added bonus the stat senses better room temp. Cost him about $100 and some fine smoke. The reason why I am rambling (besides being stoned) is make sure the unit restarts on power failure because that saved his crop (and me being really smart). Also I am an HVAC professional.

Good info fellow stoner! Do you know what window ac units don't let light in? all the new one's have styrafoam and suck at stopping light penetration
